1980 Pontiac Trans Am Description

Classic 1980 Pontiac Trans Am with T-Tops

VIN: 2W87TAL142968

Due to husbands health problems I need to sell my dream car! :-(

Was my project car, now needs someone else to finish and show!

White Exterior / Camel Tan Cloth Interior

2,500 Miles on Completely Rebuilt 1972 400 cubic inch engine 6.6L V8 with RAM Air 455HO Cam; was an original 301 Turbo car.

RUNS & SOUNDS GREAT!!!!

NEW Radiator, NEW Aluminum Intake, NEW Edelbrock Carburetor, NEW Hooker Headers, NEW Hood Hinges, NEW brake master cylinder, NEW brakes all the way around, NEW rear air shocks, some brake lines have been replaced, NEW aluminized exhaust from the headers to the tail pipe tips with NEW Trans Am tips, NEW door hinges on both sides (doors do not sag- easy to open and close) and NEW trunk liner with felt!

Custom Transmission is FRESH REBUILT TURBO 350 Automatic with shift kit; less than 500 miles and a 2200 stall converter, with external transmission cooler.

Has Posi 342 Rear End with Drum Brakes.

Car was manufactured with A/C, but when I got it it was gone, so needs condenser, drier and compressor.

Pioneer Stereo/AM/FM/Cassette with Pioneer Super Tuner Amplifier and Graphic Equalizer and Pioneer 120 watt speakers…

...stereo sounds awesome!!!

Working power antenna too!

Factory jack included!

Exterior:

This car is not a prefect (un-restored), but a good project to work to make it great again. (See photos) It has some rust behind both doors, but rocker panels are good inside and out. Needs new trunk deck lid, as you will see in photo, but inside trunk pan is in good shape and has new trunck mat. Car was repainted in the mid 1980’… perfect car for someone who wants to restore, but on a budget. Has a 1979 hood with a FOE shaker hood scoop mounted; of which was original red, but has been painted white. We have a spare shaker hood scoop to include in the purchase for an original air cleaner base. All decals in are in fair condition; and the body has a few small dings and dents (see photos), but nothing major considering it is 38 years old and un-restored. It could use new weather stripping; as it is cracked and worn. As I said, this is NOT a $20,000 + restored T-Top car, it is what it is, but runs and drives great with all major mechanical components already redone for you.

T-Tops are original FACTORY Tinted; and we even have an EXTRA set of T-Tops to go with the car!

Tires are NEW (9/2018)BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s on original 8 inch gold snowflake wheels.

Car comes with EXTRA set of rear tail lights AND EXTRA gas door!!!

Interior:

The interior is in decent shape, not perfect, has some scuffs on rear side panels and crack on dash pad (see photos). Carpet needs replaced. Seats are faded but NO TEARS…just the fuzz worn. We have matching camel tan seat covers that look like original fabric color on them to protect these original seats. Steering wheel and tilt column in excellent condition. Center console in nice shape and lid works with latch. All lights and gauges work and are accurate. Factory clock still works!!! Headlights are NEW Halogen! Power windows (a little slow), hasrare intermittent wipers – but wiper motor needs replaced, and turn signals are all functional. Carwas manufactured with A/C, but when I got it it was gone, so needs condenser, drier and compressor.Heater and defrost works GREAT! Windshield is clear and crack free, with no wiper streak. Side door windows have some light scratches on them. We also have an EXTRA rear window to go with the car.

Car comes with Original Vintage Pontiac Accessory Kit Bag – Black Leather – Containing First Aid Kit & Plug-In Spotlight for Emergencies.

Under the Hood / Underbody:

The under-body is in good shape, with no through rust, just surface; also the floor pans and trunk pans good. We have a lift, so feel free to come take a look and drive!

Overall, this is a really nice-looking Trans Am!!!

This car has been kept garaged for last 25+ years!

It is super fun to drive…and great for “Under Construction” Car Show Classes or a Fun Cruiser!!! Even though it’s not perfect, it still turns head and gets lots of compliments! The foundation is done, just need cosmetic finishing. This car would make a really nice project car, and an investment. We have driven this car to car cruises’ and had lots of fun…but due to my husbands lung health problems it must go, as he is not well enough to finish it for me.

Car is currently licensed and insured with clear salvage title in hand and ready to go!

Explanation of history on salvage title: Car was purchased with this type of title from a man that had bought it from a state sale, as it had a blown motor and was left abandoned on the interstate back in mid-1980's. He pulled it into his garage, put it up on blocks and there it sat until I bought it in 1999. This type of title we are told by the MO License Bureau cannot be changed. But does not change the fact that this nostalgic Trans Am is a classic legal to drive car and allows us to reminisce in our youth while driving, having fun and cruising with friends. Our loss, your gain.

Buyer must pay a $500.00 deposit via PayPal to purchase and hold the car until full payment is made. Full Payment must be received within 10 days of auction end date. Buyer may pay remaining balance by cash in hand, a cashier's check or a direct bank wire transfer. Vehicle will not leave our property until full payment has been received and cleared our bank. If you want an inspection, you need to schedule and pay for it with a mechanic of your choice.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions: 636-597-4023 ask for Jerry.

HAPPY BIDDING!
