NO RESERVE AUCTION Barrett Jackson Scottsdale 2019
1958 Pontiac Bonneville Red and White leather bucket seats Description
1958 was a one year body style for Pontiac. It was the second year for the Bonneville model. Fuel injection was standard on the 1957 Bonneville but was a very expensive option on the 1958. Only a few cars were so equipped. 1958 was the year for another first for Pontiac, individual front bucket seats. The "Transportable" radio was the first time Pontiac offered a transistorized radio and this radio pulled out of the dash board so you could take your music with you. An amazing accomplishment in 1958.
Of the 3096 Bonneville convertibles manufactured in 1958, only about 200 were equipped with Fuel Injection. The fuel injection unit is basically the same Rochester unit the Chevrolet was using in the Corvettes. The option was $517.00 and that was a ton on money in 1958.Bucket seats were rare and expensive also. Finding a Bonneville with both rare options is exciting.
This car has had a fantastic restoration and spent the last ten years on display in a museum. It was totally serviced in the summer of 2018 including 5 new Cocker white side wall tires, engine oil, transmission oil and coolants were all replaced as well as all filters. New brakes were installed and a major engine and fuel injection tune up were completed.
The convertible top goes up and down at the push of a button as do the power windows. This beautiful Bonneville " Fuel-lee" draws a crowd where ever she goes. I real gem to any owners collection.
