Welcome to another Guardian Auto Sales collector car auction. Up for sale today out of our personal collection is this beautiful low mileage rare optioned 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula. A little backstory about this car before we go over all of the specifics; this car was purchased brand new June 5th, 1990 from Alaska Sales & Service in Anchorage, AK. It was purchased by a gentleman who worked at the dealership and was special ordered to the exact specifications of how he wanted it. Because certain options and RPO codes were chosen for this Firebird, it makes it a very special and unique car due to the fact that he ordered it to be an "out of the norm, high performance" third generation Firebird. Keeping it the Formula trim automatically gave this car the WS6 performance suspension package, along with the hard top option it makes it more rigid, lighter, and gave it better overall handling characteristics. All of this information is available because every single piece of the original documentation is still living in a protective binder several inches thick. And I mean every document. The hang tag, window sticker, build sheet, purchase agreement, paint code card, brochure, owners manual, maintenance schedule, literally everything. I also have a very large portion of paperwork from all the maintenance and repair history for the car as well. This car truly has the most pedigree I've ever seen come with any car period. SPECIFICS: Engine - LB9 Tuned Port 305 small block V8. These came with the L98 (350) camshaft giving it an increased redline and giving it a rated 230hp, only 10 less than they rated the 350's at. Transmission - World Class T5 5 speed manual. The transmission is this car is what really makes it such a gem and a true pleasure to drive. (You can only get the 230hp with the LB9/T5 combo which is special in itself.) Other parts from the performance enhancement option included are 4 wheel disk brakes, engine oil cooler, dual converter exhaust, and a limited slip rear end with 3.42 rear axle ratio. The car is mostly stock and unmolested apart from the wheels, a Dynamax muffler, and Eibach lowering springs. However, I have kept all the stock components apart from the muffler, which can be included if the next buyer chooses. It is also completely 100% rust free apart from minor surface rust on the various undercarriage bits like the rear end, sway bars, etc, but as far as rust issues this is as clean and solid as they come. Overall, this is an extremely nice representation of a late third generation Fbody that is car show or daily driver/weekend warrior ready.
