This is a real red, 4-speed GTO- documented with Pontiac Historical Service papers. Frame off restored and meticulously cared for since. We sold this car to a collector 15 years ago, he cherished this car. EXTERIOR: This GTO stands proud. The body panels are straight and fit right. Doors can be shut with your pinky. It has its original 1/4 panels. Bottom of doors are clean, both fenders sound like metal when you tap on them. The Montero red paint... is polished like glass. The jambs are detailed- latches, hardware are cleaned, new weatherstrips and sill plates. I'm looking at the hood right now and it has a mirror reflection of the ceiling. The stance is tough. New Cragar wheels with some beefy white letter tires, bigger in back. Up front the bumper and headlight bezels are rechromed, the grill is very nice original. New hood emblem on the hood. The antenna is the correct one. Stainless trim around the windshield and even the wiper arms are polished and straight. New windshield. On the sides the rocker moldings, emblems, wheel well trim and moldings on top the doors look new. In back the bumper has been rechromed and all the trim is polished. The black convertible blacktop is like new. Has convertible boot. INTERIOR: Inside the car is just as tidy. As I sit behind the wheel and look around I am impressed. It is clean, not abused, practically new looking. New cushions in the seats, upholstery looks new. The door panels, visors, dash pad look new. The whole instrument area is excellent. The chrome around the gauges, radio, heater controls, horn button all sparkle. It has a correct 4 speed console with original vacuum gauge. It has the rally gauge cluster and tachometer in the dash and below the dash it also has newer, probably more reliable gauges. The interior lights work. Has original seat belts front and back. Any interior metal is painted real nice. Carpet is like new, has embroidered floormats. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: When you have a GTO everyone asks- does it have a tri power under the hood? You can open this one and say yes! The compartment is very clean and proper looking. The engine has the correct Aqua paint, proper tri-power carbs with chrome air cleaners. Correct valve covers have been rechromed. All of the finishes are smooth- the firewall, inner fenders, core support, bottom of the hood. Hinges and latches are detailed. It also has power steering and power brakes. There are a set of headers on the motor. There's an aluminum radiator with electric fan to keep it cool. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Huge trunk compartment has really clean metal with a nice coat of spatter finish paint. Has a thick rubber mat, full spare with tire cover and jack assembly. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted very nicely. Has the jacking instructions decal and new weather strip. Original hubcaps are included. UNDERSIDE: Exceptionally clean. Body was removed from the frame during restoration for a thorough job. The metal floors, frame and suspension parts are smooth metal with satin black finish. No evidence of repairs or patches that I noticed. Up front the suspension and steering was rebuilt. Brakes and shocks replaced. Bottom of motor is super clean, fuel pump and starter look new. 4-speed Muncie trans is spotless looking. In back it has air shocks, suspension bushings were replaced. E-brake system is complete. It has a fat exhaust system with crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. This GTO has desirable features, it is exceptionally clean and cared for. It really does function as good as it looks.
