1954 Pontiac Star Chief
Pontiac's top of the line automobile for 1954. As you can see from the photos, this car is in very nice shape. It drives quite nicely, and handles as well as it should for cars from that era before they really improved suspension systems. This was Pontiac's last year before they introduced the V8, so this car has the straight 8. It's not real peppy, but it moves down the road with a lot of class and dignity. The wonderful Indian hood ornament still lights up, making the car as attention getting at night as it is during the day.
As mentioned, it is in very nice shape, but there are few things that don't work and some rust under the back seat that needs to be dealt with. The odometer reads 63K plus, but it no longer works, and the device on the dashboard that is supposed to drop the high beam headlights down to low beams when it "sees" an approaching car also doesn't work. Other than these items, everything else functions fine.
