1966 Pontiac GTO$21,950True 242 GTO455ci V8 EngineTH-400 Automatic TransPower Front Disc BrakesHotchkis Sway BarsBrand New Quick Ratio Steering BoxThese Classic GTO's are getting tough to find in this condition that has not been converted from a LeMans, The way to know the difference is the first 3 digits of the VIN will show 242. This here is a very solid car and is ready to drive and enjoy immediately! Everyone knows these GTO's and this one is sure to strike up conversations everywhere you go. This is the perfect car for the Friday night date to go get Ice Cream, Saturday Cruise's and Sunday Car Shows! The Body is very well presented, some bumps and bruises are seen, but looks rather well for an older paint job. No bubbling is seen in the common areas and all the panels line up well. The Interior is Black Buckets with Console and looks good, All the Gauges work including the factory Tach, plusan oil pressure gauge is mounted below with an all matching Woodgrain dash inlay. Seats are in good shape and are quite comfortable, Carpet and headliner is presentable and no cracks are seen to the dash pad. The Factory style radio remains in place, but a larger system has been installed in the trunk. Some work will be needed to get the sound system functioning properly. The Engine and drivetrain is a great combination with alot of recent work. First, The Engine is an Oldsmobile 455 and has quite the bit more performance over the stock 389, in fact, about 30+ HP more and about 80 lb/ft of torque. Backed behind that is a TH400 Transmission to a 10 bolt rear end. A High End "Be Cool" aluminum radiator with thermostatically controlled dual electric fans have been added for better cooling and an Edelbrock intake/carbhas been added to the engine, along with plenty of chrome to clean the engine bay up.Alsoa Newer AGR Steering Box with all new front end steering components are seen.Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway bars have been added for extra stability. Really, the drive quality of this GTO is great and you wont be disappointed. The Chassis is also in great shape and is very solid. No rust or damage is seen, the Floors and Trunk pan look great. The E-brake, however, will need some work. This GTO wears a nice set of Centerline polished 17" rims, with Toyo Proxes 225/45 front and 275/40 Rear tires, all with good tread remaining. Plenty of pictures can be seen above showing the condition of the Chassis.Overall this GTO is a great driver as is. The suspension upgrades really make this car. Corners are no longer a thing to fear thanks to the flat handling and precise steering. The braking is leagues better than the squishy factory drums thanks to the power disc brake conversion. Cruises on a hot day are no big deal thanks to that huge radiator and fans. This is an easy and rewarding car to drive. You will enjoy driving it and the amounts of compliments you'll receive and conversations with fellow car people will make you wonder why you didn't do this sooner! For transport we recommend Mike's Discount Auto Transport for some of the best customer service and pricing in the industry.
