1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 Description

Greetings! After 30 years my Wife has considered selling her baby. This is a rare and very beautiful one owner, one driver 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 show car that has to be seen in person to be properly appreciated. Pictures were taken before it was cleaned inside and polished outside. I read there were a gazillion 1989 Formula 305s produced, but only 1500 Formula 350s were made, so it's definitely a nice, rare 30 year old collectible survivor V8 muscle car. It was purchased brand new and driven only by my Wife (with a "few" exceptions when I got to drive it). It's been extremely babied and meticulously cared for all of its life and it shows. Always smoke-free. With a little more detail work it could be a very nice contender at car shows right now. Still runs and drives like it did when new. It was her regular driver to work etc. for the first years and she has guarded it with her life then and every since. When new vehicles came along she always wanted to still keep the Firebird. Where we didn't need it for transportation it has just sat stored in a garage retired for about the last 17 or so years. Started often and driven a little each year, but hasn't went more than ~150 miles in all that time. When we could, we would throw a little loot at it to fix it up. Here are some of the items we've replaced in an effort to restore it: New paint job (not totally perfect show quality, but looks pretty danged close), new tires and KMC wheels w/less than ~500 miles on them or so, new $1000 exhaust system (Magnaflow I think). Many other items have been replaced: Brake pads, starter, water pump, serpentine belt, many new hoses, nice new shocks, injectors, front air dam, hood support struts, windshield etc. If she can get what we're asking (need it to help fund the new one), she says she'll let it go. It would have to be nearly impossible to find another that is a finer example of this model of car, a one owner survivor car that's been truly babied its whole life. This car has enough power to break things, so that's why it hasn't been used for that. We both take exceptional care of our stuff, so its power has been enjoyed modestly and gently, always. Not hot rodded like you'd expect. Never off of pavement and always the same amount of tire tread on back as front if you know what I mean. The paint job is beautiful and is the original color of red it came with new, but is the new basecoat/clearcoat. So shiny it looks wet. It's the perfect red. It's all been color sanded and polished and looks pretty killer, but there are a few spots that have what I'll call a little "blushing" that still needs a little more buffing to be perfect. There is still some residual polishing compound down in cracks and along the molding etc. that needs to be cleaned up better here and there. There are also a couple of teeny dings that the guy was supposed to repair and didn't. Paintless ding repair would take them out if desired. There are a few other minor defects in the paint keeping it from being totally perfect show quality, but it looks pretty danged close and would blend in at a car show just fine. Nice looking car!! The car has never been wrecked, but did get a fender bender when her Father backed into the passenger door/front fender area. It was repaired, but later some checking showed through the paint. When we got it repainted I stressed that he address that fully, but he didn't and the old repair checking can again be seen through this paint. Not very noticeable at all, but it's there, just in that location. I'm not aware of any rust at all. This car was driven only one year in the winter. The rest of its life it's always been stored inside and never again driven in winter. The only thing I know that's wrong with it for sure is that the driver's door handle is a little loose. It functions perfectly, just is a little loose. May be missing a little clippy doo spring, or just needs tightened, not sure. We had the old dark window tinting that was illegal removed and replaced with the darkest legal shade on both side windows and the back window. One flaw is that she had a DashMat on it and the velcro attachment spots can still be seen in a few areas on the dash. The A/C blows ICE cold and everything else works as far as I know. Air bags, power windows and side mirrors, power door locks, power rear hatch latch, power headlights, intermittent wipers, Alpine CD, and cruise control with ~83900 original miles. Comes with what she called her "Racing Snow Tires", which are similar to what is on it, but were really expensive and have aggressive tread that she used that one year in the snow. Also, I have a new replacement air dam I purchased to have in case something ever happened to the one on it that'll go with it. It has brand new Lloyd's custom floor mats that were $pendy. They are embroidered with the Firebird. Happy to speak with potential buyers to answer any questions you may have, but this car really needs to be seen in person to show how nice it is. The pictures just do not do it justice. We're hoping it can go to a collector or someone that will just keep it retired and just show it at car shows, drive it in parades, or take it on date nights etc. Same money is involved here to have a nice babied, ready to go V8 muscle car/show car as say a new ATV. Once you see it, you'll see why we feel it's well worth what we're asking. This one is a 30 year old gem. All questions are welcome. Thanks! :)
