Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. Up for sale is my 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This car is not like 99% of the cars you will find for sale. This car has just undergone a complete, professional, documented frame off restoration. It is an elite level car in museum condition, and should be considered to be of the highest collector quality. This car is better than it was the day it rolled out of the factory in 1978. It looks new, it drives new, and itliterally SMELLS new. It has never been used or shown, and it is ready for the new owner to reap the rewards of any show it is taken to, or to be driven like the Bandit himself.

This Trans Am was taken down to a bare metal body shell and rebuilt into the beauty it is now. The car was absolutely rust free and solid as a rock, so it retains all of it's original sheet metal. It barely even needed any body work beside a few small door dings here and there. All new code 19 Starlight Black paint was applied, and the car was carefully reassembled and adjusted for panel gaps that far exceed the quality you would find in 1978. All weatherstripping was replaced. Latches and hinges were rebuilt and restored. The final touch was a full set of brand new Phoenix Graphix stripes and decals in the iconic gold of the Special Edition package to complete the look of the infamous Bandit Trans Am.

The engine isthe powerfulPontiac 400 cubic inch power plant backed by the reliable TH350 3 speed automatic transmission. Both are rebuilt and the engine is slightly beefed up with camshaft, ignition, carburation and exhaust upgrades to provide well over 350 horsepower and 400 ft/lbs of torque, while still looking stock and retaining easy drivability and reliable performance. The engine breathes through the shaker scoop, as was intended by the factory engineers. This not only provides cold, dense air for extra power, but it also rids the engine compartment of clutter and weight. The exhaust is full length headers that flow into a true dual exhaust system, out to the factory chrome splitter tips. It sounds great! These engines are smooth and have a ton of grunt.....so it's very easy to cruise down the highway at very illegal speeds without even trying. So be careful and watch out for Smokey!

If you look at the photos, you'll notice that the underside of this car is where this one is a step above most classic cars. Every single nut and bolt on this car is either new or restored. The entire suspension was disassembled, cleaned, stripped, repainted, and reassembled. All new shocks, all new springs, all new bushings, brakes, fuel lines, brake lines, etc etc.......the list goes on and on. I can say with complete confidence that this car is cleaner underneaththan any 2020 model yearcar sitting on any car lot in the USA. Go check out the prices on any new Camaro or Mustang......and then ask yourself if anyone is even going to notice when you drive it. This Banditwill cause an instant commotion anywhere it goes. Do not buy this car unless you are ready for the attention it is going to receive!

The interior is all new from top to bottom. It features the black vinyl Standard interior, with the full gauge package that came standard with the Trans Am option. It has power windows and tilt steering. The stereo is a modern unit that plays either FM radio or it will play any music wirelessly through your phone or any other digital device. It features the correct Special Edition gold dye on the dash bezel and steering wheel, as well as the gold birds on the horn button and shift knob, completing the look ofyour Bandit. As I said in the beginning, when you sit down in this car, it literally smells new!

All in all, this is a nearly flawless example of one of the most famous and beloved movie cars of all time. Everywhere you go, you will be the center of attention and the star of the show. Everybody knows and loves The Bandit!
