This rare car was cover featured in Smoke Signals Magazine, a collectors magazine.
This is a new listing for a rare 1928 Pontiac Sport Coupe with Landau top. Our father has passed away, and we are selling his collection. This car is very rare, show ready, and runs well. This car has an original 3 speed transmission. The engine is a split 6 cyl., 186 cu. in. with 48 hp . The carburetor (not original but correct vintage) has been rebuilt.
Numbers matching and very original to the best of our knowledge. The odometer reads 46492; I assume that means 4649.2 miles. The car has the OPTIONAL 19 inch wire wheels. Beautiful nickel honeycomb radiator and hood ornament. All gauges work except the gas gauge. The Landau top does not retract but has a snap-out rear window. The windshield cranks up two inches for ventilation. There is a hole in the windshield behind a sticker. Much of the car has been re-plated with nickel. There is a rumble seat. The car was with the previous family for 80 years. It has the original owner license plates and owner’s driver’s license. The lights work. Has been gently restored over its years. Mohair interior is very old and sections may be original. The paint is approx. 1985. Some minor paint dings and cracks. Newly powdercoated rims. Heat shield added to help protect the carburetor against vapor locking. Modern fuel filter and line added and is somewhat hidden. Brakes have been worked on,and there was an axle weldrepair. Undercarriage has had a basic cleaning and repainting. No rust issues seen. This car is very popular at car shows and with children.
