1989 Firebird Trans Am GTA WS6 - 5.7L 350
1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA Description
Up for sale is my 1989 TransAm GTA 5.7L - Automatic 700R4.
I have divided up the car into sections, describing the car as best I can.
Exterior/Body:The car been painted a nice jet black color, which I think is an improvement. The exterior of the car has been kept 100% stock, with the correct emblems and trim that came on all 1989 Trans Am GTA. The paint on this car looks super awesome in the pics; I would consider it a good five footer 4 coats of clear from 3M were applied but there are some small defects from floating dust/bugs that got caught on the clear.. I was quoted $400 to wet sand and buff to remove 95% of the imperfections. There are a few blemishes here and there, the most obvious being the crack on the nose piece on the passenger side next to the fog lights.. (Damage from unloading the car from a car dolly..). The brake lights, reverse lights, blinkers and headlights all work like they should.
Brakes/Tires/Suspension:The tires on this car have plenty of life left in them, and are not worn irregularly. The brakes on this car have been overhauled and bled, with recent replacements of the pads, lines, disk brakes and calipers on the front and rear. The wheel bearings have been replaced are in good shape. There are no strange noises or clunks from the suspension. It drives straight, stops straight and handles well at speed. The power steering and power brakes work well. The frame, floors, and body are all rust free and in good shape.
InteriorThe interior of this car is Black and as you see in the pictures, it looks awesome. The front seats are brand new suede leather racing seats mounted on the original tracks the drivers side still has all the electrical adjustments in working order. New Carpet The speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, battery, and water temp gauge all work like they are supposed to. The original radio works, as well as the heater, parking brake, and power windows. The rear compartment have all been restored and look awesome. The dash, door panels looks awesome.
Motor/Mechanicals:The original smogger 350 that came in this Trans Am was long gone when I got it, and in its place is a GM 350 crate motor. I have replaced the spark plugs, fuel injector, fuel filter and I have a new set of spark plug wires that will be installed soon... A new performance CHIP has been custom tuned to the new higher pressure injectors I have proof of all the work done to it... The engine was replaced by the previous owner I don't have paper work on that but it does look brand new look at the photos with the label with the bar code... He gave me a link of the page were the engine is listed on SummitRacing and the numbers match on the label next to the oil filter on the engine block... a new cap and rotor, and ignition coil was installed as well. The oil was changed and the coolant was flushed with new. A lot of small things were changed in the engine bay like valve covers and the air filter element. The engine runs well with no smoking, knocking, or hesitating. The transmission is a 700R4 and shifts well in all four gears. (It does have a small leak looks like from the transmission pan nothing major I added oil when I got it and it still shows full... but it does drip on the floor) The exhaust is dual pipe and sounds pretty good it is almost new the previous owner installed.
This beautiful car has a clean Florida title in my name, and also has a clean CARFAX to go with it.
The Bad: - Paint is not perfect would be much better after wet sanding and buffing... 4 coats of 3M clear... - Windshield is broken - Has a small leak on the transmission Oil Pan does not affect the use of it - I only have the keys to the ignition...door keys were missing when I got the car - Front speakers are either not connected or missing - It may need a valve adjustment... when the car is cold you can hear the valves after it heats up is much better - A/C has a leak it will work for a week after you recharge but it leaks freonI tried to list all the things I know that are bad about the car but it is a 30 year old car there may be other things that are not listed if I remember anything else I will edit the list...
The car is also listed for sale locally and I may cancel the ebay listing at any time if sold...
The price is negotiable but only in person, once a test drive has been completed. No trades other than for a different American made classic car.Call/Text/Email if interested.
