DESCRIPTION:

A once in a lifetime purchase opportunity on this restored full matching numbers, rare 1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with numerous desired options. This specific T/A, built for Canada, has all of the paperwork showing how the car was optioned proving it was 1 of 2,986 Trans Am builds for Canada in 1975. 1 of 857 in Cameo White, and only 1 of 88 with the L75, 455 HO engine.

Total North American production numbers for the 1975 Trans Am option sat at 27,274 while only 874 of those had the same L75 engine option that this car has. Not having the total North American production numbers available with this same color (11), engine and transmission combo (L75) this one contains, one can recognize it would still be extremely low overall.

This car was sold new locally in 1975 and eventually made it to the previous owner who was aware how rare the car was. He took the time to complete a show worthy frame off restoration on the car. The previous owner is a very well recognized and respected body man who has an exceptional attention to detail and typically contracts his work out for premium builds. The paint compliments this show stopper and was sprayed by another local painter who also supports the premium restoration class cars restorations. The paint and body including the undercarriage are certainly some of the many highlights of this car. Beyond the paint and body being of high quality and properly completed, a strong effort was made to have the undercarriage appear the way it was from new. Red oxide paint in certain areas under the car along with overspray areas were all taken into consideration. As you can see in the pictures, the undercarriage is show worthy.

The matching numbers engine was said to be completely rebuilt before the previous owner purchased and restored the rest of the car. There are pictures of the engine block and head stampings within this auction. Automotive quality paint was used to paint the engine to ensure it will last and show as best it can for as long as possible. The engines sounds great and has been improved with headers and dual exhaust knowing the car would have originally been equipped with manifolds and a single exhaust option.

Moving inside the car, it received new carpeting, a new headliner, and new seat covers. The dash, steering wheel, door panels and console are said to be original to the car. As our largest outdoor car show was fast approaching and the owner wanted to show the car at the event he did not have time to refurbish some parts of the interior that he intended to complete. There are a small handful of simple items that did not get restored to match the rest of the interior which could easily be addressed if you so desired. Those being: dye the bottom part of the original door panels and address a couple of flaws that you can see in the console close to the shifter. Please note, not included or shown in the pictures is an 8-track that will be fastened in its proper place within the dash before the car sells.
