Here's a first year, first generation Firebird that should be first on your list of cars to check out if you're looking for a clean, classic Firebird with a little extra power under the hood. After approximately 33 years of ownership, our client decided that it was time for something different, so now is your chance to get ahold of a well maintained, classic Firebird.
A closer look at the exterior of this Firebird reveals the similar body styling of the same generation Camaro. We're happy to see a nice Firebird for a change though. Quite some time ago the car was painted Burgundy metallic, which is similar to Pontiac's burgundy color that was offered on '67 Firebirds. A hood tach has been neatly installed on the hood, all trim and chrome is in good condition, and classic Weld Racing wheels finish off the pro touring style of the exterior.
The interior has been left pretty standard other than the B&M shifter, and a few auxiliary gauges. Black bucket seats, leave you in a comfortable driving position behind the three spoke Firebird steering wheel. A look forward through the windshield affords you a birdseye view of the hood tach.
Under the hood is a balanced and blueprinted '69 Pontiac Ram Air 400 mated to a TH400 transmission. A 12 bolt rear end housing 4.11:1 gears helps get power to the rear wheels. 4BBL carburetor, roller rocker arms, a Lunati camshaft, flat top pistons (engine is bored .30 over), Victor JR intake manifold, headers, and B&M shifter are just a few of the notable drivetrain options on this car. The nice engine noises that the built 400 makes are heard a little better thanks to Flowmaster exhaust components.
Simply put, this is a really clean first generation Firebird. A built Ram Air 400 V8, solid body, nice paint, tidy interior, and a tough look thanks to Weld wheels and a slight forward rake are all highlights of this Bird. This car has been well maintained over the years, and always garage kept - it really shows. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our website: Garage Kept Motors.
