Camaros, Mustangs, and Mopars just don't do it for some people. See, they like to stand out from the sea of the standard "car show" muscle cars, and they like to support automotive guards that, despite market headwinds, never deviated from their original heading. That's the chief mantra of many diehard Pontiac fans, and that's why classics like this lovable ProStreet '67 Firebird are so appealing. Combining a hot Big Block with a smooth Automatic TH 400 trans, razor-sharp aesthetics and miles of mind-blowing, tire-smoking bliss, this street-legal ride is sure to put the wind in your sails! Looking for some Bad Boy muscle that's ready to cruise the streets this spring, here is your ride!
AGGRESSIVE STYLINGRolling out of GM's facility back in 1967, this little Firebird Coupe's engaging F-Body has benefitted from decades of steady restoration. Naturally, that work has maintained proper Motown form. And today, this handsome Pro Street cruiser walks a fine line between tastefully contemporary and aggressively flamboyant. At the front of the car, you'll find a correct, factory looking bumper and grill with correct factory lighting while a raised Fiberglass hood tells you there is more to this car than you would first think. The car is adorned in Standox Toreador Red Base Coat Clear which will easily turn heads wherever you go and is a perfect accent to the aggressive body language this car conveys. Around stainless wipers, polished frames and ornate factory mirrors set off the car color like jewelry does to a red dress. Beneath those mirrors, a sculpted profile floats polished door handles, flowing louvers and stylish marker lamps above dent-free rocker guards. And at the back of the car, stacks clean taillights and a broad clean bumper, with a custom Aluminum decklid spoiler adding downforce and keeping the car planted on the track or street.
BIG BLOCK POWERTake a look under the hood and you'll find 540 cubic inches of clean muscle that's been professionally rebuilt. At the top, a new Quick Fuel 4-bbl carburetor joins an MSD Pro-Billet distributor to kick start combustion confidently. Fuel and air flow into Brodix Aluminum heads, which marry a high rise aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM intake to those aluminum heads. Traditional V-belts spin factory power steering beneath a Chrome high output alternator. A beefy high-flow aluminum radiator has been installed to keep her cool, with dual electric cooling fans. A finned black air cleaner tops off the engine and offsets the large black valve covers. Polished breathers add sufficient flash and accent the billet pullies and other dress-up items under the hood. And items like a fresh brake booster and stainless fluid lines add proven merit to the car's show-stopping style.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX ITAt the bottom of this slick Firebird, solid floor pans tell the story of a clean car that's been restored as needed. Behind the mighty motor, a proven Turbo-Hydramatic 400 trans spins power to a fresh rebuilt 9 inch rear-end with 3:89 gears with a posi-traction differential. Below that stellar drivetrain, upgraded suspension centers factory power steering between standard-issue power front and rear disc brakes. At the center of that satin black chassis, aluminized exhaust hangs a 3-inch exhaust that dumps the spent gases out under the car in a glorious adrenaline-inducing rumble. And everything rolls on polished aluminum wheels. The front tires are Kumho 165/80 R15 and the rears are nice and wide Mickey Thompsons 29x18.00R15's.
AS THE FACTORY INTENDEDOpen this car's solid doors and remove the quick-release side roll bar piece and you'll find a race-inspired custom black interior. Race seats are supple, firm and look every bit as firm-fitting and nice as our pictures imply. A nicely done roll bar lets you know there must be some power under the hood and offers the confidence of protection one would expect will all that power under the hood. A weather-free dash hangs rebuilt telemetry next to a correct push-button radio. Auto Meter Gauges have been installed so you know exactly what's happening with that motor and how quickly you're leaving your competition behind. A trimmed console founds an updated shifter seated neatly in the console with extra gauges. And the driver spins a stylish black steering wheel to finish things off. There is a nicely updated sound system with a custom speaker housing in the rear seat area as you'll see in our pictures, but we doubt you'll be listening to it that much... more than likely, you'll have the windows down and listening to the music the big block makes and watching heads turn as you blow past traffic.
*****Please Note: We have done our best to dissect this car and its options. Normally we have an owner that will go on and on and tell us all about their car, but unfortunately, we don't on this one. This was owned by a dear friend of ours and unfortunately passed away just after this car was built and finished. He never had time to even drive or enjoy it. His girls know little about the car, so we did our best to help with a description of the vehicle. We know the motor was freshly built just before his passing and we know the rear-end and paintwork is fresh because those were completed here at our facility. We have driven this car enough to shake the bugs out as we don't like zero driven mile cars! So now that we feel the bugs have been addressed, it's time for a passionate driver to give this amazing ProStreet build the home and roads it deserves.
