1977 Pontiac Lemans Sport Coupe Can Am
1977 Pontiac Le Mans Description
Pontiac Le Mans Can Am. You are bidding on a complete numbers matching Pontiac Can Am. As I’m sure you’re aware, Pontiac only made 1188 (or 1377 depending on which story you believe) of these cars. More info on the history of these cars can be found online if you don’t know the history. This car was found in Mississippi and it does have a nice solid body. The trunk floor and floor pans need attention/replaced but the body appears to be nearly completely rust free. Unfortunately the hood was bent when it appears somebody tried to close it with stuck hood hinges. The spoiler center section and passenger side corner piece are off the car. It appears the mounting points of those pieces will need to be repaired. This car is a bench seat and automatic on the column. She also comes with snowflake wheels which was an option on the Can Am. The interior of this car is rough. Plastic is faded, cracked and brittle. Dash is real rough. But this is a true Can Am with its original motor. The motor will not turn over by hand so assume it needs to be rebuilt. It’s missing the air cleaner base. When we purchased this car we were told it was dubbed the “fastest car in Tupelo”. Can does have nitrous hookup in trunk and bottle mounting strap still in tact. So this is your chance to own a seriously rare car that has a great story of taking people’s money street racing in the late 70s. Check out the pictures and ask any questions during the auction. Since the car does not run, it will need to be transported at the buyer's expense. $500 immediate payment due within 48 hours of the auction ending. The balance is due within 7 days via cashier's check, personal check or cash. All checks must clear the bank before the car leaves.
