1966 Pontiac Tempest Custom Description

I Purchased this car in January 2017 in Lake Havasu City Arizona. Trailered it home and started the restoration. It is a 1966 Tempest Custom that originally had the 326ci engine with 2 speed power glide it has since been converted to a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3l L33 all aluminum block and heads. I have installed a LS2 Cam and LS6 intake manifold as well as had the heads rebuilt with beehive springs and new retainers then added arp bolts. I wanted to stick with the 5.3l so that the 326 badges would read correct to the engine that is installed. It has a 2005 Tahoe 4l60E. It has a Auburn True Trac POSI installed. There is nothing mechanically wrong with this car and I would trust it to drive across the states no problem. Some additions to the power train are Doug's long tube headers, Magnaflow bent 3" dual exhaust with H pipe, catalytic converters, and Summit Racing Mufflers, it has a Holley Car oil pan and Valve/Coil covers, installed is a Frostbite cross flow radiator by Holley that has proven to keep the car cool in 100+ heat it has 3 cooling fans one of which is cooling the a/c condenser, the a/c is a factory 2005 compressor connected to vintage air via custom lines. Moving to the chassis it has a full race level 3 QA1 suspension handling kit with dual adjustable coil overs boxed trailing arms and upgraded sway bars, also has a UMI performance rear shock tower brace. I have included some of the pictures from the restoration it was a frame on, the sheet metal that was replaced includes rebuilding of a rusted dash and front window track, passenger front floor pan and rear passenger under seat pan, trunk pan, and trunk filler panel and the supporting structural sheet metal for the filler panel. The fuel tank was upgraded to a spectra brand in tank fuel injection supporting pump. The brakes were upgraded to The Right Stuff brand 4 wheel disc and booster master cylinder upgrade. The trim is in great shape and is all original. The paint was a local budget level paint job that looks great but does show some flaws. I has 17" Hurst wheels with an additional in the trunk for spare. The interior is all PUI original style replacement door panels, seat upholstery and headliner. I installed shoulder belts in the front in the factory location. The instrument panel is a Classic Dash panel with all gauges being Autometer electric Sport Comp 2.The floor and trunk were sprayed with lizard skin sound deadener and a sound deadening material installed in the cabin. The speaker system consist of nothing fancy but new front, rear, and under seat speakers powered by a Pyle Bluetooth amp going through a factory look radio. There has been some wear and tear from 2 yrs of driving including a rock chip on the hood a miniscule knick in the windshield, along with a repaired back section of the front driver seat caused by a broken seat spring that poked a hole in the vinyl. The seatbelts in front have also caused some chipping of paint on the inside of the doors. This car has created many memories through the labor of love which was building it with the help of my children and the enjoyment they had showing it off by cruising it around town or road tripping just because. I know that this car will continue to build memories and provide lots of fun with its new owner. If you have any questions please ask and if you need more pictures I have over 400. Happy Bidding!
