1980 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham
1980 Pontiac Bonneville BROUGHAM Description
Up for auction is a 1980 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham. This vehicle was bought from C&P Motors in Dover Delaware in 1986 by my grandfather. It had been traded in by the original owner for a Cadillac that she liked on the lot. In 1987 my grandfather passed away and the vehicle was drove by my grandmother for many years with it being having a repaint completed in 1992. I drove the car here and there and to school and back until I graduated and moved out in 1998. The vehicle was parked in the garage where it sat for many years until my Unlcle decided he wanted to drive it. He had new brakes installed and all the fluids changed, along with a tune up and new tires in 2004. He drove the vehicle as a daily driver until 2006 when he purchased another vehicle that year and this car was given to me by my grandmother upon her death in 2009. As I was living in the city I did not have any garage for it to be kept in so a friend who owns a body shop allowed me to keep the vehicle there under a cover while I saved money to have the car completely restored. But, with three young children and then the untimely death of my wife from cancer in 2017 the car has just sat waiting for the restoration that it deserves. The vehicle has only been in one minor collision since my family has owned it and that was with me being re-ended by a friend of mine leaving high school one day. Needless to say her Mazda did not fair well....lol! The interior of the vehicle is in great shape, it needs a headliner and a good cleaning but it is still very plush with no rips or tares in the seats. The dash is in great shape and the last time I had it running all gauges and idiot lights worked normal. The vehicle is equipped with the 4.9L V8 which I know needs new exhaust manifold gaskets. The engine does run but the transmission needs some work as well as the brake The trunk does need to be realigned and as you can see there are a few rust spots that need attention. This car would make a very nice restoration project for someone with the money. I honestly can't stand having to let it go, as my grandfather and I were very close. But, I know I must and I kindly ask that if you are going to part it out please do the right thing by the car and move on to another one. If you want to restore it and put it on the road again I will help however I can. If you have questions please feel free to contact me.
