Up for auction is a nice custom 1940 Pontiac two door sedan. The car was restored / customized about 16 years ago. At that time, a Pontiac Ventura (Nova) front stub was put on it along with a Chassis Engineering rear leaf spring kit. The car has a clear Wisconsin title and is titled as street modified.
The drivetrain from a Ventura was also used including a 400 engine and transmission. Approximately two years ago, the engine was having issues and it was changed to a Chevrolet 305 cu. in. V-8. The Ventura automatic transmission and rear differential are still being used. The car also has power steering and power brakes. The parking brake is missingbut this car runs and drives really well.
The bodywork and paint were also done during the restoration. Door handles were removed and electric door poppers were installed. The trunk handle was also removed and has a remote opener inside. The body is all steel. The paint is a satin gray and has held up very well.
The interior was also redone. Original seats were recovered and are in good condition but show some wear. They are very comfortable. The door step moldings are missing on both sides. New Auto Meter gauges were installed and look really good. The dash was left basically original with a very coolclock in the glovebox door but the clock is not working. There is an aftermarket stereo in the glove box. All the lights work like they should.
This is a great driver street rod just as it is.You don't see a lot of Pontiacs from this era so it's a fun car to take to cruise nights and shows. It could use a couple little finishing touches but you can get in it and drive anywhere today. We have the car for sale locally so we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please look at the pictures, call or email your questions or come and look at the car in person! Thanks for looking. 608-873-5264
