1969 Pontiac Grand Prix J Description

The Grand Prix is a handsome, luxury muscle car. This is a good unabused, rust free example. #s match, original metal.
EXTERIOR: I will say the body is outstanding. Rust free, original clean metal. Bottom of the fenders sound like tin when you knock on them. Bottom of the doors have a clean factory lip. Bottom of the quarters have clean metal with the spot weld still showing. The panels fit real nice and square. It is straight looking down either side. It was completely repainted, it does have a smooth, glossy black finish. Door jambs were painted nice, weatherstrips were replaced. The vinyl top looks like it's been replaced. The bumpers are dry originals showing some patina, the rear bumper does have a dent on the corner. The stainless moldings are straight and shiny. The remote mirror looks real good, it has the coolest door handles! It also has rally ll wheels with the original Pontiac lug nuts and correct center caps. Tires look like new.
INTERIOR: Very cool wrap around dash and a console gives the driver a real "cockpit" feel. The seats are very comfortable. I believe the two buckets have been reupholstered, the back seat looks good original. The door panels are not beat up, there's a square patch repair on each of them. It has very unique, cool inside door handles. The dash pad is in excellent shape. Nothing broken or beat up, has original radio. The center console is in real nice shape. Nice headliner. It has all of it's original seat belts front and back. It features power windows, power seat, center console, tilt wheel and clock.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: VIN number matching original 400 motor has been upgraded with an aluminum intake and an Edelbrock carb. It runs smooth. Features include air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. Overall very respectable and proper looking.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Super dry, clean original metal. Trunk floor has no patches or rot. I looked up inside the quarters with a flashlight, no splices, they are the originals. The jamb has clean factory seams and spot welds. It's been spatter painted. Has a jack & spare, new weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: This is among the cleanest, dryest original metal bottoms I've looked at. All the factory seams and pinch welds are dry and crisp. No signs of patches, it even has the little rubber flaps over the drain holes on the inner rockers and quarters. Sure there is a haze of insignificant surface rust. It has never been painted over, what you see is original. Bottom of the motor looks clean, has it's original turbo 400 trans. Nice dual exhaust system with glass pack style mufflers.
I see thousands of collector cars a year and can count on 1 hand how many of them are 1969 or 1970 Grand Prixs. You can own a muscle car that people will be happy to see.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
