1963 Pontiac Le Mans Convertible Description

This is a 1963 Pontiac LeMans 3 speed manual shift Convertible. The original 4 cylinder motor was removed and replaced with an original Pontiac 326 (336) engine by the previous owner. Before installation the engine was rebuilt, bored .30 over, making it now a 381 with an upgrade cam that produces a mild lope, and an Edlebrock carb leaving the original hand choke in place. An original equipment dual exhaust system was added, and the engine runs very strong. The speedometer reads 71,000+ The engine transplant occurred at around 68,000 on the speedometer.

Rust free quarter panels and a fiberglass tail panel (behind the rear license plate) were installed by the previous owner and the car was painted Pontiac Grenadier Red. There is minor damage to the rear tail panel barely noticeable, and the vehicle will need a neutral safety switch, which on these vehicles was a clutch mounted switch.

I purchased the car over 15 years ago with just under 69,000 miles showing, and have used it in local parades and a few local car shows. In the time I’ve owned the car it’s been in a heated garage, and the owner before me stored it inside his business. This is a well cared for automobile that is one of the first muscle cars, and a really rare example of that time. The tires are barely worn, and a new spare is mounted in the trunk with an old school multiple CD player connected to the updated AM-FM radio. The original AM radio is included Brake cylinders all around have been recently installed along with a rebuilt master cylinder.

The car wasn’t equipped with power brakes, power steering or seat belts from the factory so I purchased a “ScareBird” power front disc brake conversion kit and located a complete original 63-326 power steering set up, both yet to be installed, I did install seat belts, which Ebay's format refuses let me enter.. At 74 years old, my lying beneath vehicles is over. This car will spin heads no matter where you take it. The white convertible top is electronically operated, and the white boot is new. At 53 years old, this vehicle is in amazing shape.
