1937 Pontiac 6CA Deluxe Business Coupe 6CA Description

Up for auction is my 1937 Pontiac Business Coupe. This car is in originalunmodified condition except for a repaint decades ago from its original black to gray, the addition of radial tires in a size similar to original spec and new brake line hoses and wheel cylinders.
Body - The car has been garage kept for most of its life. Originally from Wyoming then brought to Colorado, it is a dry western car that is very solid. The only rust I have noticed is inside the the trunk directly in front of the rear bumper mounts. The frame, rockers, fenders appear solid under very old paint. There are several small dents andscrapestypical of a driven car of this age. The paint is certainly driver quality and can be enjoyed as is. It would not be hard to prep for a repaint back to its original black. The doors open and close without sagging or alignment issues. The hoods open, close and latch as designed. The truck lid is missing its right side support but the left side is in place and functions properly. Floors are solid with no rust. Frame andundercarriageis also solid.

Trim - Its all there. It is aged with fading/small scratches. Bumpers still have theIndianhead emblems. The grille has small dents but is intact.
Glass -The glass is all there but is delaminating in some corners. Window regulators all function and windows go up and down properly.
Interior - Not in bad condition for an original 80 year old car. It appears to be all original and never modified except for the door panels. They are in fair condition but I am unsure if they are original. The seat appears to have its original fabric. There are holes/wear spots particularly in the seat backs. Thestorageareas canvas cover behind the seat is intact and in decent condition. The head liner is rough with numerous holes that have had various sewing repairs done over the years. The dash is in decent condition. All gauges function as designed. Package tray is in good condition. Accessories include service record vanity mirror, clock and ashtray.
Heater - Heater is an original Pontiac accessory, possibly dealer installed. Defrosters were not installed but heater has an unopened port for the defrosters. Defroster duct work is not present and probably was never installed.
Drive-line- Original 6 cylinder engine runs very with no smoke nor mechanicalnoises. I feel it has been rebuilt sometime in its past as there is no sign of original paint present. The transmission is a three speed and shifts smoothly. The cars electrical system is the original 6 Volt type and works well. It always holds a charge even after sitting for weeks at a time. I have it on a battery tender over the winters. Brakes are decent with new wheel cylinders and brake line hoses. It has its original single reservoir system that should probably be upgraded to a dual reservoir system if driven on the highway.
Wheels/Tires - New radials replaced the original style bias ply tires and tubes. The tires on it when I purchased the car appear to be dated from late 40's-50's. Original steel wheels and hubcaps are present. One of the old tires is located in the spare tire storage area and it comes with the other four old tires and tubes.
Lights - Headlights, parking lights and stop lights all function properly. There are no turn signals.
Other - No radio was ever installed. he car has an accessory ashtray and deluxe folding sun visors. The truck area is clean and appears to be original condition and all there. Wood is in great shape.Odometer states 27,648. How many times it has rolled if any is tough to say. Pedals do not look worn to the point of a 200,000 mile car.
This car could be considered asurvivorwith the exception of the paint, tires and possible engine rebuild. Except for the tires all changes to the caroccurreddecades ago. I believe that the paint was applied in the 60's or maybe 70's. It would make a great cruise night car, local car show candidate and could be driven as is. It is also solid enough for a restoration. I feel it would make a cool Hot Rod but I never considered it because it's too original and complete.
I have had the car for a couple of years during which time it never failed to start nor did it ever leave me stranded. The reserve is very reasonable. Contact me with any questions.
The car can be shipped from my place of employment as we have a shipping dock. The location there is Englewood, Colorado 80110 for shipping estimates.
