1965 Pontiac Tempest Description
65 tempest wagon, originally sold in CA, went to Arizona, spent most of its life there, was removed from road then went to IL to sit in a garage
Car has been total rebuilt.
Its equipped as follows,
326HO engine rebuilt about 4 years ago, burns premium gas. Has Edelbrock intake with rebuilt Q-jet
Dual exhaust 2 1/2 dia. with X pipe.
Tremec 5 speed trans with .82 overdrive.
original rearend rebuilt, 3.23 gears(open)
4 core radiator
clutch fan
1 1/4 front sway bar
1 rear sway bar
all rear control arms are boxed
power steering rebuilt by Lee mfg, has been chg'd for more feedback than stock
front brakes are '71 GP disc
brakes are manual with aftermarket master with other mods so that less pedal pressure is req'd than a stock setup.
clutch linkage has spherical rod ends to replace sloppy stock items
custom made driveshaft to go with tremec
All brakes and brake lines have been replaced.
rear suspension has air springs that are adjustable from the drivers seat, compressor in rear, gage under dash with switches
factory vac gage on trans hump
better than factory rally gages, has oil, battery, gas and water temp in first pod on left then speedo, then tach and last pod on right has rally clock that has been updated with new movement.
extra cargo area light has been added and it can be switched on and off from a switch in the cargo area or a switch under the dash in front by driver.
courtesy lights under dash and in headliner can be switched off or on from another toggle switch under dash.
Rally clock also has a switch under dash that allows you to turn it off if car is going to sit for extended periods
power rear window, switch has been updated from a fullsize NOS switch under dash pad.
Dash pad has been recovered
all windows are factory soft ray glass except windshield. anyone who is knowledgeable on A body wagons of this era will tell you how hard it is to find a rear window that is scratch free much less a softray glass one. Well this car has one. All the other glass is in very good shape. a couple of small scratches thats it.
