1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport convertible and LOTS of NOS and used parts
1972 Pontiac Le Mans Sport Convertible Description
1972 Pontiac Lemans convertible is an original Arizona rust free car. This is a high end, nut and bolt restoration project that got started but I can no longer allocate the time to finish it. We have moved into a new house and there is nowhere to store all the parts for the car. Car pretty much needs paint, an interior and a convertible top to complete it. Body and frame were completely media blasted and then completely DA sanded. The engine and transmission were disassembled and hot tank dipped to clean bare metal. The entire body, frame, engine and transmission were shot with 2K urethane self etching primer and then with 2K urethane epoxy primer. Nearly every last part to complete it is included. I was a GM parts manager and have 30 years of parts amassed for the car including over $20,000 in NOS parts alone. Quarter panels were replaced with NOS due to poor previous repair work, front fenders are NOS. Impeccable body work to the cost of $15,000 was performed by a professional restorer that has had his cars featured in Hemmings publications. Original 350 CID engine machining and rebuild was performed by noted speed shop and is painted to the exact shade of blue for this year with 2K epoxy and upgraded with OEM parts to 4 barrel carburetor with dual snorkel air cleaner and OEM 4 barrel camshaft, otherwise it is completely stock. NOS oil pan, valve covers, starter, alternator, A/C compressor, sensors, fuel pump and new wire harness and restored OEM carburetor and fuel line make this engine look absolutely brand new. TH350 automatic transmission was rebuilt to OEM specs with new valve body and torque converter by top notch facility and detailed to look as new. Chassis was completely stripped and repainted and all parts replaced with NOS and is set up to GTO specifications with sway bars, boxed rear arms and manual transmission braces. I bead blasted every nut and bolt on the car and repainted to the correct shades with 2K paints to match originals, I spared no time for detail and no short cuts were taken. I have the entire 30 year life span of pictures since I have owned the car. You will be buying the car with the rebuilt and detailed engine and transmission mounted, the solid steel body in primer, the completed and detailed rolling chassis. The parts included take up a 10x20 storage unit and include rare power seat tracks, several sets of power window regulators, tilt steering wheel and even the rare seat back locks and multiple complete cruise control setups with NOS parts, so you will need a way to move it all in addition to the car. Additional extra sheet metal is included with car as well as about 5 sets of Rally II wheels, some already stripped and shot in self etching primer. Two VIN tags and titles are included with sale as I bought a second car for parts. Far too much detail to list on this ad. I have about $50,000 invested in this car and I did most of the the labor.
