1979 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird Description

I have had this car for the past 15 years and have loved it dearly! Always get great comments on the condition of the car. The car has the following features:
- Screaming chicken on the hood
- Shaker hood with 4.9L engine underneath
- Honeycomb rims
- T-Tops with weather seal intact
- Custom pin stripping done back when the car was purchased
- Screaming chicken formula steering wheel
- Pontiac logo door handle
- Aftermarket Clarion cassette player with Amplifier
I have maintained the vehicle and kept it running smoothly and have only had to repair/replace normal wear and tear parts. All other parts of the engine, body, paint, accessories are original. I have done all maintenance and just recently did an in-depth routine maintenance of the vehicle as follows:
- Oil and oil filter change
- Transmission oil and transmission filter change
- Water pump and thermostat change
- Spark plug and wire change
- Fuel pump and Fuel filter change
- Sway bar bearing change
- Master cylinder change and parking break tightening
The only component I don't trust myself is tuning the carburetor, so I took it to get tuned up professionally and the car is running smoothly. For serious bidders I can do Facetime chat to demonstrate condition of car and motor.
Being the car is a classic, the only components (to my knowledge) that are not working are the cruise control, cassette tape deck, and the air-conditioner. The fan motor works and the heater works, the only component is the A/C but I've since learned the manufacture stocked A/C can only be charged and serviced by restoration professionals. The reason is the fitting to charge the A/C is extremely rare and very few carry it in-stock. I've been encouraged to change out the A/C for this reason but have not done so to keep the car as original as possible.
The original condition of the car is what has been keeping me from doing any kind of paint job or reconditioning in the vehicle. In addition to the car, I also have the original manual, T-Top covers, spare tire, door key, and even the original sticker price that came with the car.
This auction is for an American Classic 1979 Pontiac Trans-Am and is ALL ORIGINAL, meaning the paint job is original to the manufacture date. As a result, over the years there have been numerous minor damages that have added up and a few are listed here but do not take away from the beauty of this car. With that being said, no rust is present and the body, frame, and trim are in good condition. If you would like more information or details contact me via Ebay system.
- Headlights had an aftermarket covering that I removed and several holes are present from removed screws
- Dent damages from other jerks swinging their door against the car are located on the left front and right passenger door
- Rear spoiler has minor cosmetic damage measuring 0.5 cm wide x 5 cm long
- Both driver and passenger seat backs have damage from the seat belt buckle
- Rear seat flanges have sun damage and is faded
- Driver flooring has normal wear and tear
- Right Rear tail pipe is bent
- Trunk has a small 0.5 cm diameter dent
- Inside light fixture is broken
- Rear window metal trim is pealing
- Cassette door is missing
I am selling this car (my white dragon haha) because, sadly, I have student loans that I need to pay back and my wife is pushing for some kids. So I'm hoping this car goes to another car enthusiast that will love and take care of this car as much as I did. It has always run smooth and never had any major complications, only routine maintenance was needed to keep her purring smoothly. Even as I write this, I get a little emotional with the thought of it being sold off but life requires it.
For serious bidders, I will can do a Facetime chat and show the running condition of the car and answer any questions.
I do require a full and cleared payment before releasing or shipping the car.
The buyer is to arrange the shipping method and shipping payment if you are out of town.
The car is running and I will take a video of the condition of the car prior to shipping to ensure the current condition of the car.
I would highly recommend the buyer obtaining shipping insurance to prevent any kind of damage that may occur as I will not be responsible for damages once the car is released from my care.
