You are looking at a 1987 Porsche 944S with 67,200 original miles. I acquired this vehicle from a car collector who purchased it with the intention of adding it to his existing collection. After seeing the car in person and evaluating the overall condition, he decided that it wasn’t quite pristine enough to keep permanently. This is mainly because the paint on the passenger side rear quarter panel is not original. The paint matches perfectly and the untrained eye would never detect any flaws. But evidently the car is not suitable for someone looking to garage it and keep it as an investment.
I received the car as part of a trade towards a vehicle I was selling. I drove my previous vehicle 6 hours to the collector’s home, and drove the Porsche back to Connecticut the same day. The car runs beautifully and is truly a joy to drive. After doing some research and looking at the vehicle’s maintenance history, I’ve decided this car is a bit too nice for me to keep and drive on a regular basis. I just can’t bring myself to drive it and ruin it, nor do I have a suitable place to store it during the winter. I’m also at a point in my life where I really need to consolidate to one vehicle. My work takes up a great deal of my time and energy, leaving no room for car-related hobbies. I have years and years of documented maintenance which I can scan and send if necessary.
I believe the color is Diamond Blue Metallic and not many 944’s were produced in this color from what I understand. I have a copy of the original window sticker, but not the window sticker itself. The interior is in excellent shape with the exception of two or three sunlight cracks in the dash. The seats and carpet are also in excellent shape. There is a small stain on the carpet below the center console which can be seen in one of the photos. The interior and exterior are both in excellent shape otherwise.
The car needs new engine mounts, which I have ordered. I don’t believe they will arrive before the action ends. If they do, I will have them installed for the new owner. If I don’t get a chance to install them, they will still be included with the sale of the car, and I will deduct $100 from the sale price to account for the cost of labor.
I can contact the previous owner to help answer any detailed questions. I have a clear title with no liens. A $500 deposit via PayPal is required within 48 hours of auction end. Remaining balance can be paid via PayPal or a bank wire transfer and is due within 7 days of auction end. You are welcome to come and see the car in person before bidding. Serious bidders only. I will not accept private offers to end the auction early.
