1973 Porsche 914 Description

You are looking at a solid 1973 Porsche 914 1.7L with a dog leg 5 speed manual transmission.
I acquired this 914 in package deal from an elderly gentleman down in Missouri. The car received an amateur restoration back in 2000 by the previous owner and his nephew. The car has deteriorated a bit since then but still presents decently. It runs great and has good power for a 1.7 liter. All lights and radio work, but the blower motor does not. Hell hole and floor pans are solid although it does have some surface rust here and there. The worst spot of rust is on the lower front portion of the drivers side door. Its not horrible but it is there. Car has a clean and clear Missouri title.
Some things to note:
- The E-Brake does not work
- Car was in a minor fender bender in the right front at some point in its life as seen in the photos. Crumple bars are straight and true and the front tub is untouched.
- Turn signal relay clicks anytime the ignition is on, although turn signals work properly. Could be an incorrect turn signal relay?
- Windshield has a small crack right where the rear view mirror mounts. It does not affect visibility at all.
- The paint job is mediocre. Good coverage, but again has deteriorated, ie: scratches, scuffs, cracks and dents. I did my best to get them all photographed. A 5-10 footer.
- Steering shaft bearing has a bit of play in it. Not horrible but could use a new one.
- Dash is cracked.
- Rear trunk lid has some alignment and hinge issues which need to be sorted out as seen in the pictures.
- Drivers side outside door handle is sticky. Interior door handle works perfectly.
The car runs really well. If you are looking for a show car, this is not the car for you. If you are looking for a solid driver that you can enjoy for the next 5 to 10 years and do some TLC along the way, this is the perfect car. Air-cooled values are continuing to climb, with 914s just starting to pop. This is a fun, easy and inexpensive way to get into the game. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Additionally, I can help with shipping if need be.
