1973 Porsche 911T Brumos tribute car
1973 Porsche 911 1973 Porsche 911 T Brumos Tribute Car Description
Vehicle Overview We are excited to offer for sale this extremely rare Porsche 911 that many do not know even exists. This particular 1973 911T was built to its current specification by Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, FL as a tribute to theBrumos #59 Daytona 24 hour winning car; the specification now holds the 911E nameplate. The known history of this 911 dates to the purchase of the car from Brumos by a preacher's son from Birmingham, MI. He owned the car while living in Florida in the 70's. The car ended up back in Michigan to settle the estate, where George Mazuro, a factory trained Porsche technician from Detroit, was called in to appraise the car for auction. George found the car with its engine torn apart and disassembled. He took one quick look at the blued main journals on the crank and knew that the cases were unrecoverable. George eventually won the auction for the car and brought the car back to his shop.
Once on the lift, he was surprised to find "S" equipment on the car. It had all alloy calipers, a 915 5-speed, "S" metal front lower nose, along with front and rear sway bars. Most 911Ts were not so well equipped. The motor was replaced with a 1977 2.7 S motor which had the head studs fixed and new webcam grind for the cams (we do not have possession of the original motor). Several years later, the car was sold to one of his customers in Midland, MI, and sat for a majority of the next 20 years. The next time the 911 was sold was to a man named John Couch. The Couch family bought the car immediately after learning it was for sale, and added it to their collection of rare and exotic machinery. Couch did send away for a COA from Porsche and also exchanged emails with Hurly Haywood which confirmed Brumos built several tribute cars for dealership sales. Since beginning ownership of the car, John removed a gaudy but original rear wing that Brumos used on their race cars and replaced it with a proper engine lid and fitted original Fuchs wheels with correct sized tires. This is not an aftermarket kit installed by shop after delivery of the car was taken; this 911 had all parts installed by Porsche certified technicians at Brumos Porsche.
We assume the car to have the correct mileage of 3,622 miles on the odometer, but we are not certain of this number. The paint is all original with exception to a few minor touch-ups. You will not find anotherBrumos tribute 1973 911 in this condition for sale anywhere. The heritage and passion and performance from which this car was based on and built around is one that is not found in any other air-cooled 911. It cannot be stressed enough how truly rare this car is - especially in an era where any clean and drivable air-cooled Porsche is becoming ever more sought after. This 911 does not simply symbolize a rare collection of parts fitted to lucky 911s, but it is one that holds with it Porsche history that will forever live on within its instantly recognizable 911 body.
