To celebrate the production of the 250,000th 911, Porsche released a special edition 3.2 Carrera to commemorate this milestone. Appropriately these were referred to as the Commemorative Edition (also sometimes referred to as the Jubilee Edition). Produced for the 1988 model year only, the Commemorative Edition 911 featured a uniquely special interior and exterior paint. The standard Fuchs were painted to match the exterior color and buyers also got Ferry Porsche’s named in script on the headrests. Porsche built only 255 of these rare cabriolet examples and only 100 came to the USA for the general public to purchase. This edition gave the owner some very unique and instantly noticeable features including 'Diamond Blue Metallic' paint matched to color keyed wheels as well as accented nicely with the supple leather interior in diamond blue with the noticeable unique feature of hand stitched signatures of Ferry Porsche in the headrests. A shortened shift lever was standard along with heavy duty windshield cleaners, headlight washers and in the coupe version, a power sunroof. This car also has the option for Carrera emblem delete for the rear deck lid.
