1962 Porsche 356 Coupe' Description

Matching Numbers 1962 Porsche 356 B Super 90 Sunroof Coupe, VIN 120077 Engine 805212When this car left the Factory in 1962 it was somebody's pretty baby. It rolled off the line in Silver Metallic (paint code 6206) with black interior. The beauty didn't stop there however, the car came equipped with a Super 90 motor, Sunroof, Factory Luggage, Headrests, and Chrome Wheels. Please see the scan of the Factory Kardex to verify all these options. It was originally sold to a gentleman in Amsterdam and it must have made a very pretty site on the streets of that city. The last owner of this car was not concerned with the beauty of the car however, he was all about function over fashion. There were many performance upgrades under his watch. The original Super 90 motor was rebuilt by well known 356 wrench Bjorn Stalesen. Bjorn tells me they went with a big bore kit and a hot cam shaft to get some real power out of the motor. I've driven this car and can honestly say I wish my 356 was as fast as this one, it's got power! The performance upgrades didn't stop there, they added a Dual Master Cylinder to the brakes, Full Flow Oil Filter, Electric Fuel Pump, lots of extra gauges, and upgraded the car to 12 volts. The owner also did some rather eccentric changes to the car like eliminating the fuel door in the fender, the gas is now fed into the top of the tank like an earlier 356, as well as eliminating all the Porsche emblems. Like I said, he was all guts and glory, not pretty pony. The car comes with a carpet kit but it isn't installed, I'm guessing carpet was too fancy for this bare bones lead foot. He also was not concours in his repairs so expect to find some creative welding on the underside. The factory electric sunroof is also inoperable. If I was to keep this car I would drive it for a few years and enjoy the rawness of the car and then I would restore the car to its former glory. Right now you'll find bad bodywork and body filler under tired red paint. Once restored you have a numbers matching, heavily optioned, Super 90 Sunroof, that will look stunning in Metallic Silver paint. Think of this car like a long term investment that you get to enjoy now and restore later. Don't miss out!

This car comes with a clear title and is ready for export.
