1989 Porsche 911 Coupe Description

This is the last of the Classic 911s. Hand-built, air-cooled, classic body-style, Getrag G-50 5-speed transmission. The 1989 is extremely desirable and harder to find than the other Carrera 3.2s. These cars have steadily increased in value and show no sign of stopping. This original car runs and drives beautifully and has been well-maintained. I will provide service records of nearly $8,000 worth of work in the last two years including: regular oil-changes, tune-up, fuel filter, air filter, brakes, window switches/motor, A/C condenserblower, transmission shifter coupler & bushing, hood/hatch struts, turn signal switch, fan and A/C belt replacement, wheel bearing service, and new alternator. I have had all the major service done by classic Porsche-mechanics.
The car recently had a very-favorable full inspection and you can see the report in the photos. Following that inspection, the brake and side-marker lights were replaced (pictured). The fog lights were found to be working per the attached images. The oil leak was addressed through a level adjustment and gasket replacement (valve cover seep is expected and was notrecommended to be further-addressed by the inspecting mechanic as it is extremely minor). The front wheel bearings were serviced. Fan and A/C belts were replaced. I did not have the A/C recharged because my mechanic didn't have the R-12 coolant and would have to sub-contract this service. However, the condenser blower and belts were recently replaced so it is believed the system is still otherwise in working order. The A/Cs were never a strong point in these cars and I have found the fan, windows, and moon-roof to be adequate for ventilation.Immediately following this post-inspection major service (this month), I noticed a new noise coming from the the vehicle. The car had a clean bill of health per the inspection, and I was planning on selling, but I didn't want to sell it without addressing that. I took the car back to the shop and it was discovered that because the previous belts were worn, they had not put sufficient workload on the alternator and, with the new belts, the worn alternator became apparent. Therefore, I had my mechanic replace the alternator with a new OEM part. Problem solved and noise gone. Also at that time, he pointed out a flat spot on the underside of the fuel tank of unknown cause or duration (did not occur in my care). He assured me it does not cause a functional problem and recommended leaving the tank original. That part of the tank was thus freshly undercoated (pictured), in order to protect the metal as there were a couple of areas where the rubber coating had peeled off (no evidence of rust, etc.).
Hopefully it is apparent that I am going to great lengths to provide a detailed description of the condition of the vehicle. Like you, I have looked at many listings for cars like this and have not seen sellers regularly provide such transparency and documentation. This is a classic car with the stated mileage, and has wear and ongoing service needs consistent with that.I have absolutely babied this car in the two years I have owned it. I have kept it under a cover in my garage whenever it is not being driven. I have not driven it in the winter months and have kept it on a battery maintainer during that time. Some additional add-ins: two sets of floor-mats (I put rubberized floor-mats in all my cars), the battery maintainer, theCover Kingcover, and aBentley Service Manual.
The car is being sold in as-is condition. Any interested buyers are welcome to come inspect the car themselves. "WeGoLook" offers a service through eBay and you may utilize that as well by clicking on the included link.As described above, a full inspection was recently performed and documentation of such is included in the attached images. The clean AutoCheck report is also provided. The deposit is not refundable and payment for the balance must be received within 7 days from the close of the auction.I will work with the buyer to help coordinate shipping anywhere (buyer pays).
You really do have the opportunity to get a rare, beautiful, classic, well-documented car here. Best of luck and thank you for your interest.
