77 911s Cabriolet, Chevy V8 Conversion, Runs & Drives, Many New Parts
1977 Porsche 911 S Cabriolet Slant Nose Description
Here is a 1977 Porsche 911 Cabriolet with V8 conversion and slant nose widebody kit. The odometer shows just over 100k and the car has a clear title. The paint is near new, the convertible top is brand new, V8 engine runs excellent with rebuilt carburetor and the transmission shifts very good. Please take a look at my video above and if you have further questions, call me at 949 2 8 5 – 8 0 1 1 Exterior wise, the car started out as a Targa, but as you can see, someone turned it into the ultimate Porsche some time ago. the guards red paint is newer and looks decent as a driver, however it is far from perfect. The body is straight and the car has metal fenders up front and fiberglass in the rear. There are no major chips or dings in the paint, however there are a few imperfections such as orange peel and dust particles which could be color sanded & buffed out. But overall I would rate the paint quality at about a 6 of 10. The cabriolet top is brand new, but latching system is same as a targa and it is hard to latch shut once open. Has 993 side view mirrors and fiberglass whale tail. The interior is mostly original. The carpet kit is newer and the original front seats look to have been recovered recently as well and have no rips or tears. Dash looks good with no cracks. Radio is new and it works, but I disconnected it. Door panels are original and are in fair shape. Both windows roll up and down as they should, but regulators should be lubricated.. The gauges were changed over to white face at some point. The tachometer gauge works but speedometer does not, engine temp works (although reads higher than it really is verified) as well as oil pressure gauge works ok. Signal and pop up lights do not work. Convertible top is a power top that has been put on this car but is manual now and is not easy to latch. Mechanically, the car now has a smallblock V8 engine (327 I'm told by previous owner) with what I believe to be the original 5 speed transmission. The engine runs very well and makes this car quick on such a light vehicle. It has a newly rebuilt 4 barrel 600 CFM Edlebrock carburetor with electronic choke which works perfectly. The V8 has an aluminum radiator mounted under the hood of the car and it has an electric fan to keep the radiator cool. All coolant lines and plumbing were done long ago by someone else so I can't answer too many questions on this or the conversion, sorry. The transmission shifts excellent and there are no popping out or grinding issues. The steering feels good. I just had front horseshoe pan replaced as it had some rust. The pan is very dry as is the rest of the car. Has disk brakes all around. The car should be considered needing some work, but as it sits, it runs and drives decent.
