1983 Porsche 944 Description

Here is one sweet ride for sale to the right person. This vehicle was originally purchased on May 9th 1983 to an individual in Salt Lake city. Original owner kept very nice care to it. Then he sold it to a dealer in Utah in 2012.. This information is coming from the car fax I have. Then this dealer sat on it and basically didn't do any thing with it... sent it to California in 2016 and my son purchased it. And we went out for a visit in February as I purchased another classic and was looking for another to ship back. Well.. son is 25 and wanted a 55 Chevy rat rod, so I purchased it from him and shipped both my classic's back to the Pittsburgh area. Well, I have more classic's than garage space.. something has to go. As mentioned car is very nice, interior is beautiful. Original color is red, currently has a similar red 3M non gloss ( Matt Finish) wrap on it. I have an extra roll of wrap that will be included with the sale. Roll is about 5 feet x about 35 feet long. Upon it's arrival I applied for PA Classic... so if someone from PA does purchase it, the plate stays with the car.
My son had issues having it to pass California Emissions, but that was solved as a faulty air idle control valve was replaced. I have the document that indicates it passing emissions. In Pennsylvaniatail pipe emission test would be required, but since not many people do it anymore my inspection guy I have used for 18 years said, just get a classic plate and it's exempt.
The rear shocks were worn out, So I just replaced them with brand new Monroe's. In addition, the spare tire was missing, So I obtained a brand new spare. The rear rotors were worn, So I purchased a complete set of Slotted /drilled rotors. The rear were changed, the front rotors are perfect, so the new( slotted/Drilled) fronts with pads go along with the sell.
Of course when they did the wrap, the removed the windshield washer squirters.. So I purchased them from Porsche. Finally, the front side marker lights were removed, guess California doesn't care about those issues. Here in PA they do... So I purchased a very nice used set out of California.
Sound system is pretty sweet, Pioneer with CD player and I do believe it also has inputs.. To me I'm 54sounds great to me, but I'm not in my 20's they had sub woofers installed where the spare would go. Those were removed and given to my 21 year old daughter...
Also I has the leather trunk retractable hide cover... and in the one photo I tried to give it a little gloss to it, that would up being a dust magnet...lol
As seen in the pictures car is lowered, and rides pretty nice...Handles perfect.. actually when I spoke to Local Porsche technician in Pittsburgh, this model being the first year offered in the United States.. he said it was the best handling Porsche that ever came off the assembly line.. That's what he said..it's the only Porsche I ever drove..
I almost forgot... my son said the dealer he purchased it from, had a brand new clutch/pressure plate and throw out bearing installed just before my son purchased it. I had placed a temp gauge in the air outet... and was blowing 48 degrees
So if anyone is local who would like to test drive it before bidding, I don't mind at all... This is a local pick up, but if it needs shipped, I have no problem in assisting the buyer. Buyer will be responsible to make all arrangements and payments for shipping.
If anyone has questions fill free to ask.. I will keep tabs on my message box and will reply back as soon as possible. Actually, I just had right shoulder surgeryso I'm Mr. mom for a few months.

Finally... Check out NADA classic price listing... Have a good day... John
