1962 Porsche 356 Rubinrot 6202B (Ruby Red Color) Enamel Description

This is an exceptional car that is show and road ready.. don't miss out on this car, it will be hard to find a restored car at this level for this price,,, others not as fresh have sold for almost twice as much. The collaboration of specialists that built this car is amazing.. It is a real head turner.. this car has 500 miles on it since restoration...

I have had 3 verifiable offers close to the "buy now" price, and I have also dropped the sale price $20,000 from the start to help it along. This car will be detailed up and ready to drive home or we can recommend a carrier to deliver it to your door.

THANKS FOR ALL THE VISITS AND POSITIVE COMMENTS.. This is truly a beautiful car...

This is an exceptional and very rare Porsche 356 BT6 model, it was restored to the "Street Concours" show level in 1992 by a collaboration of top flight

professional Porsche restorers. This Porsche 356 Cabriolet is a very rare D’Ieteren‘Twin Grille’ Roadster "normal" model, one of only 248 built in 1962.

This is a fine example that was restored by the current owner in 1992 and has been driven less than 500 miles to date, 8/8/2017.

The black 62 Speedster went over $500k at auction 2 weekends ago..

I would like to thank the 3 parties that made offers...

This spectacular vehicle was a collaboration of professional Porsche 356 restorers in the Rocky Mountain region to PCA "Street Concours" judging standards with Kardex exterior and interior colors and features matching. This car a worthy investment and addition to any serious Porsche 356 collection. It is COA correct.

General

The ownership prior to 1992 is not documented. The current owner commissioned the restoration for the purpose of entering the car in local and national

concours events. The car has been judged at several Denver area events and has consistently been awarded first place in the 356 class. It was also judged at

the 2009 PCA Keystone Colorado Parade and was awarded 231.6 points, out of a possible 235 points and received first place in the 356 Street Class since the

professional restoration.

Body, Paint and Trim

The sheet metal, all panel fitment, gaps, edges and trim are excellent with only very minor imperfections. All chrome plated components were re-plated

properly.

Engine

The engine is a period correct, with an early 1960’s case with an unnumbered timing cover. The engine was recently disassembled, inspected, and

reassembled by an expert 356 and 911 mechanic with over 45 years’ experience. The carburetors and fuel pump were rebuilt, the engine sheet metal was

stripped and re-painted, and cad plated components were re-plated which resulted inan outstanding concours condition. The engine was rebuilt in 1992

using a 1720 ‘big bore’ kit and performs perfectly.

Transaxle

The original transaxle, #51330 was rebuilt during the 1992 restoration is in very good operating condition with 500 miles on it to date.

Interior and Glass

During the restoration a new and complete interior was installed, using correct type black leather for the seats (as per the Kardex information), and the

proper vinyl for other interior panels.

Convertible Top

A gorgeous new top was installed using correct Haartz material.A new windshield was installed and all other glass components are in excellent condition.

Steering, Suspension, Tires and Brakes

The brake and steering systems were rebuilt during the 1992 restoration, and new shock absorbers were installed. The tires presently are mounted onchrome plated after-market 4 ½” x 15” wheels. The tires are Michelin X, 165 -380/165 – 15 and are in excellent condition, they are out dated and are intended to be used for concours events only, they should be replaced before any significant driving. The underside of the floor pan, front and rear suspension, brake components and axle tubes were restored toconcours condition.

Electrical

All electrical systems function properly.
