This wonderful 1986 Porsche 944 coupe comes most recently from our own private collection, and is a fabulously original car that has had just three owners from new, including ourselves. With just 74,600 miles from new, it remains excellent throughout. The body is straight and free of corrosion, with the original Guards Red paint in remarkable condition, showing only a few very minor blemishes that are consistent with a cherished original car. The hood and hatch fit properly, and the doors shut with factory-fresh precision. Exterior trim is in very good order, the car never having been in an accident. Original Phone Dial alloy wheels wrapped in excellent Pirelli tires with plenty of tread life.
Mechanically, this 944 is completely standard and unmodified. The car was purchased from the original owner, a doctor, at 70,000 miles, and then thoroughly recommissioned with a fresh timing belt, balance shaft belts, drive belts, cam seals, engine mounts, assorted gaskets and seals, water pump, brake hoses, brake pads, transaxle fluid change, and a thorough inspection by water-cooled Porsche experts Provost Motorsports in New Jersey. Of course, full documentation of the work performed is included. It runs and drives beautifully, feeling very fresh, tight and every bit as one would expect from a low mileage and original 944. A pure sports car with sublime balance and hardly a squeak or rattle from the body.
Inside, black leather upholstery is in excellent order, showing no rips, tears or excessive wear. An aftermarket radio is the only deviation from standard, but incredibly, the original Blaupunkt radio is included and in fine order. Carpets, door panels and headlining are excellent and the dash is crack free. The original bag for the removable sunroof panel is included and the trunk includes the complete original tool kit which appears to be unused and excellent, down to the factory supplied vinyl gloves. Also all books are included.
