Dallas Motorsports is pleased to present this 1979 Porsche 930 that has just arrived to our Wylie, Texas showroom !!
Affectionately named the "widow maker" by many, the 1979 930 was the final year for the 911 Turbo in the USA until being re-introduced for US production in 1986. Still carrying the 930xxxxxx vin number, the 75-79 930 Turbos continue to see a rise in value since production numbers were quite low.
This particular 930 comes to us from a local Dallas gentleman who has owned the car for the past dozen years or so and has cared for it with no expense spared during his ownership. The previous owner had unfortunately let the car sit in storage for many years prior to deciding to let someone else foster the 930.
Once the car arrived in Dallas, it was delivered immediately to DC Racing ( a very well known Porsche indy shop here in DFW ) for some much deserved TLC to be made road ready once again. Some new tires, fresh fluids, fuel tank flush, etc, it was back on the road !
Over the past 12 years, DC Racing has religiously cared for this 930 quite literally sparing no expense. In just the past year, the 930 has been the recipient of a complete, cases split, engine rebuild and gearbox rebuild !!!!
Receipts on hand show over $35K spent during the previous owners time with the 930 !!
Although mostly original, this 930 has been given a few very tasteful upgrades over the years to improve the appearance and drive-ability.
Those upgrades include:
