1980 Porsche 928 Base Coupe 2-Door 4.5L
1980 Porsche 928 Description
I have to downsize my garage space to make way for a family suv, so for your consideration is this - an early model Porsche 928 (weissach pack) in Porsche factory original grand prix white with camel tan leather interior.Well preserved with factory books, tools, and service records.
This car has been well cared for and well preserved for it's age and year. It's simply gorgeous. Both in exterior and interior as well as mechanicals.
To start for instance; it has had it's mostimportantly in these vehicles, timing belt and water pumpreplaced and serviced within last 500 miles (Service records available).
The tie rods/bushing/suspension were replaced and car's alighnment is dead straight. The motor is very robust with plenty of torque and power from it's 4.5 liter Porsche power plant. The transmission shifts through the gears nicely. All of the electronics has been sorted through. No check engine light or any errors indicated at all. The headlights work. The rear wipers also function. They rarely work on these 928, but this one do. Radio antenna powers up and down. The power moonroof opens up and closessmoothly. The windows work both driver and passenger side. Powered motor seats allfunction. The heater does an excellent job of warming the cabin. The a/c functions blowsalthough it will need a charging.I've recently mounted brand new tires both front and rear. Pirelli p400 rare size up front. The brake calipers were painted after serviced, in metallic gold like the Mercedes AMG GTS. Wheels are factory Porscheteledials in black.
The leather isin excellent shaped coloredtan with a distinctive period rich smell. Matching interior Brand new plush carpet with 928 stitched logo. Removable protective plaid steering wheel/seat belt cover for a classy vintage appeal look. The glass is clean and clear all around vehicle. No cracks or anything. Has a period correct in car Motorola phone mounted in middle console that actually works and powers up. Adds to the charm of the car so has never been removed. The exterior paint appears to have been resprayed and touched upat one point in original factory grand prix white. It shows very well in both daylight and night time. Has been detailed and waxed. A non-smoking owner car.
The car also has a new battery. This car will start right up every time. It has a very pleasurable audible sound from the brand new Borla exhaust system. Not too loud at all, but has enough sound for the motorgear enthusiast to exploit I'm sure. The Borla brings out the proper V8 grunt and growl. The factory catalytic convertor was replaced as well. So no foul fuel smell from this car. It's really aclean and refined gentleman cruiser. It's been really reliable to me. It just needs to be driven and enjoyed more.If left stored for long time the rear tranny does drip a few oil drops. Nothing major however. These are common in these models.
These Porsche 928 are beginning to experience appreciation value and becoming collectible. With the likes such as Magnus Walker beginning to sought and purchase them.Hagerty estimates this vehicle to continue to climb as the market demands for early 928 in clean, nice, preservedrunning conditions are harder to find.
I will assist buyer with shipping and store car as needed. Inspections are welcomed. I have 100% feedback ratings so please bid with confidence.
The car has recently passed a Texas inspection. It will come with a clean clear Texas title in my name.
Good luck to all!
