History: These original documented original 912’s do not come along often. This car has 114,276 original documented miles. This car has been a very fun project and time to let the next owner enjoy it. This car has had the same owner for the past 45 years or so. It was found sitting in a garage with a car cover and many boxes stored around and on the car. I purchased this non running project and had the following work done to it.
-Cleaned fuel tank
-replaced fuel lines
-rebuilt original Solex 40 carburetors
-rebuilt original fuel pump.
-changed oil and filter
-new spark plugs
-Gone through the brakes and installed new lines.
Exterior: This car was originally color code light ivory. It has been repainted red however the paint is showing its age. There are still spots of its original paint peeking through here and there. This car shows no signs of any hits or collisions. This car however does have rust. It has rust in the front pan, under the pedal box, and in the rockers. Please take a look at the pictures of underneath the car. This car still has its original hood badge, deck lid emblems, doors, fenders etc. This car would be great to restore back to its original light ivory color. The driver side door striker mechanism is broken and the driver side door does not close fully. Please see the pictures. This car has its original SIGLA glass.
Interior: This car is stock and original in the interior. This car has its original 3 gauge cluster, original headliner, seats, rubber floor mats etc. This car has a later radio from the 80s that has been installed. The passenger side window does not roll up, but the glass is intact and in good shape.
Engine/Transmission: This car has its original numbers matching engine and 5spd transmission. The engine was rebuilt in the early 1980’s ( I have the receipt for this) and has been parked since 1991. This motor does not have many miles since the rebuild. This car has its original Solex 40mm carburetors. This car starts right up and makes good power. It revs smoothly and appears to be in very good mechanical order. The 5spd transmission shifts through all of its gear smoothly as well. In 1968 an A/C system was added to this car and has a date stamped condenser.
Suspension/Brakes/Wheels: This car has its original suspension. The brakes system has been gone through and new lines have been installed. The calipers do stick a bit, but they may free up with more use. This car has real original Fuchs wheels that look very nice. The tires should be replaced before driving. The tires are from the late 1980’s. This car is fitted with a date matched 12/65 spare wheel.
Overall: This is a very original unmolested car that would make a great driver, restoration project or turn into your own custom outlaw. This car does start however it really needs tires before a drive.
