1978 Porsche 911 -- Description

The 911 needs no introduction, as it is a famous, distinctive and durable design that has stood the test of time in a mostly one-design layout since it was introduced in 1963. They are most well known among real purists for the air-cooled engine that has been through many re-designs until the introduction of the water-cooled Porsche in late 1998. It also know secret that the RS model from 1973 (the short nose74 RS's aren't generally considered to be as... desirable, though their weight and performance were very similar) is believed to be the best example of all 911 models . This is why cloning them has been a common thing to do for quite some time. Especially with the outlandish pricing of a real one, it makes more sense to build one to your liking. Considering you can build or buy one at a fraction of the price and in all reality are probably better cars to drive than the originals. This particular car started life as a 1978 911 SC. It was originally built by RS Werkes in Delaware in 2014. The conversion consisted of a 3.2 Carrera engine, dismantled re-paint in Gulf Blue with new windscreen, door and window gaskets, RS-Style carpet and door cards, headliner, dash pad and sun visor. It was delivered at the time to the CA buyer and was CARB Compliant for CA emissions and can easily be returned to CARB compliant. The current owner and consignor purchased the car in 2015. Getting back to the drivetrain; it is a 231 HP out of a high-compression 1984 model and has just undergone a leak down test (on file). It is equipped with 930 valve covers and silicone gaskets, SSI headers and heat exchanger. Earlier this year, the engine was resealed and exterior parts were undercoated and plated with new engine and transaxle mounts installed. New injectors, fuel lines, chain tensioner and oil supply lines. The clutch was inspected with a new clutch cable and throw-out bearings installed. The transmission is a 915 that was rebuilt by Renegade Hybrids in 2018 that is equipped with a limited slip and all wear components were just replaced. All chassis bushings have been replaced along with sway-bar strut bearings and control arms. All new cross drilled rotors and brake pads, braided stainless hoses and rebuilt master cylinder and brake booster. There is quite a bit more that has been done with receipts for everything. This 911 is a absolute riot to drive. Everything is in perfect working order and is ready for whatever you want to throw at it. I have more info for any interested parties.
