For sale is my 1985.5 Porsche 944. I have owned this car for a few years now and have put a lot of work into it. I have some other projects that have taken up more time and money. As it sits the cars odometer shows just over 73k miles. I broke the odometer by pressing the trip reset button while moving(happens to them all). Timing belt was replaced 5 years and less than 2k miles ago. Could use a belt tension adjust as it never was done. When I got the car it had sat for some time in the sun, but I did a pretty good job correcting the paint. I believe it could still be made to look a little better by a professional but in reality could use a respray if you want a show car. This car came from the factory with slightly rare and definitely wanted limited-slip differential! Transmission is great and doesn’t appear to have any leaks. The only real issue is the clutch needs to be replaced. It is drivable but you can tell the years have disintegrated the rubber center of the clutch. Lots of driveline slap when letting off the gas. Every so often it slips a bit as well and when I drive it, I drive it very gently. With a new clutch this car would be near perfect! When I bought it the interior was sunburned and cracked. I found a donor car and now has a crackless dash and seats that are near perfect minus the rip across the driver seat(pictured). I tried to sew it up but the thread wanted to just slice through the old leather. So a piece of black tape was my go to. Both seats are full power adjust and feel amazing! My friend has the sport seats and being a big guy I prefer the standard. Car is equipped with cruise control but never did engage for me. I disconnected it at the harness plug as it would make a strange clicking noise. There is a small spot of green on the carpet on the passenger side. The heater core went bad(which I replaced) but coolant had dropped onto the carpet. Just hit it with some carpet paint and won’t know it’s there. Seals have been replaced on the rear lights and so has the hatch seal. I replaced the hatch pins as well and they keep the hatch closed tight. The carpet in the trunk could use some cleaning/revamping. Shift boot is new and the padded armrest is great but needs a new latch. Has the original removable roof bag in the trunk as well. Under the hood, the cap, rotor and wires have been replaced within 3 years along with fpr and fuel pump. Tires are almost new and were replaced a couple hundred miles before I got the car. The rears are expensive Pirelli HP tires with the fronts being Sumics. From the photos you can see there is a ton of tread left. Rear shocks were replaced less than 500 miles ago and made the handling nice and flat. Car has no rust except one tiny spot, on the passenger side door sill, that can only be seen when the door is open. Could easily be corrected with some reformer and touch up paint. This classic has been in a garage for the past 4 years. I haven’t gotten to drive it as much as I want but even during the winters would start it and let it run to keep everything running smooth. Heater works amazing in this car but the A/C does not. I tried to refresh the R12 a couple years ago but I never could get the compressor to start. I love this car but other projects and business ventures have made my time with this Porsche limited. I want someone to enjoy it as much or more than I have!
