Here is a 1968 Porsche 912 Targa with Recaro seats. The car has a 1970 911 T 2.2L 6 cylinder engine with 5 speed gear box. I purchased a few years ago from a Navy Captain who owned the car more than 30 years. He was from Mississippi where I and the car are located and was stationed in CA near the LA area. I hate I lost the documents but I had an ENTIRE folder of service records over the years from a Beverly Hills Porsche dealership he regularly visited. After retiring he and his wife returned to Mississippi and after his passing I purchased the car from his widow. I had great plans for the car and just recent somethings have come up that I am not going to be able to complete my plans for this beautiful iconic car. I want to start by saying I want and encourage you to call or email me with questions. I have taken tons of detailed photos so please feel confident in bidding. I will gladly get you additional photos of anything or answer any questions you may have. I am an avid lover of vintage vehicles and FULLY REALIZE alot of times pictures can be deceiving. I will gladly face time you with anything about the car you care to see as well as answer any questions as well as I can. Just a year ago the car ran with no issues. It has sat up for the time between now and then. I just started the car briefly by just flushing some gas in the carbs. It runs with no odd noises or smoking. As precautionary measures I would personally flush the fuel tank as well as oil, oil filter, plugs, etc. The throttle, clutch, and brake pedal do work and return when applied. In fact all the interior lights come on in the car as well as the back lights in the factory gauges. Windshield wipers work, blinkers, running lights etc. The 5 speed gearbox shifts with ease with no hanging up in any gear. Trunk latch pops easily as well. The driver door I made the mistake picking the car up and over extended the driver door causing the dent I have noted in the photos. It makes the driver door hard to close so you have to kind of slam it and push in. I'm sure its an easy fix but I AM NOT A BODY MAN OR MECHANIC. The targa top is badly dry rotted and needs replacing. It easily comes off and secures in place though. All of the glass in the car is good and the windows go up and down freely. The Recaro seats are in great shape considering the age. One of the headrest has a tear in it. The vanity mirrors are both there as well as the rear view mirror. The factory shifter knob is in the car but an aftermarket one is on the shifter now. Door panels are pretty good. Driver door needs an inside handle. The factory gauges and glass faces are in great shape and all work as well as the illuminating back lights. The headlights, headlight glass lens, and chrome headlight bezels are in excellent shape. Under both doors the rocker panels look great with no rust. I showed pictures of both. The driver floor pan and rear seat floor pans do need replacing. The radio is missing and the dashboard does have a few cracks. The trim around the radio needs replacing and the aluminum piece that glues to the glove box is not on the glove box but I have it and it just needs to be re-glued. The tires all stay aired up except for the rear passenger. Its needs replacing. The spare in the trunk as well. The motor in the car was replaced with a 1970 911 T 2.2L 6 cylinder engine with Zenith carbs. It was professionally installed and you would never know the fact it was changed looking at it. The motor number is 6190997.The original color of the car was green. It has been repainted as you see but the paint does need to be re done. It is a little washed out and dull. The metal on the car is solid. It need some body work on both doors and around the rear quarters. This car is an EXCELLENT EXCELLENT candidatefor a full restoration. This car is FAR from a rust bucket or even what I would consider bad condition given the age. The car spent most of its life in southern California and the remainder in Mississippi. Neitherhave snow or salt put down on the roads causing the really rusty vehicles you will see.Again I have listed this car as honestly as I can but please call or email me with additional questions you may have. I will gladly answer them. I can also assist with shipping or will work with any carrier you may have if the car needs to be transported to you. Local pickup is welcome as well. I am located in Jackson, MS 39047.
