1980 Porsche 930 930 Non-Sunroof Description

1981 Porsche 930 TurboWP0ZZZ93ZBS0001936710230 EngineOnly 42574 Miles
We just found this great looking Porsche in our own backyard. This car has been in the same family for decades. It has very low miles and is in very complete condition. Many of these cars were modified, crashed, or abused over the years. The B program cars were produced from August of 1980 till July of 1981. Only 698 930's were built for RoW and 63 for Canada. With only 761 cars produced versus 7996 911 production, these cars are very rare. The 930 was not brought into the USA during this period. So any here are grey-market. This car was brought in by Daniel Hainault. It was sold to a local businessman. It had 9302 miles on it when it was brought to the USA in 1987. It was kept at the families vacation home. According to Carfax it has never been in an accident. It does have it original owners manual. We did not get any other documents with the car. At some point it had a RUF front spoiler installed with center mount oil cooler. Also a aftermarket boost controller behind the seats to set pressure on the waste gate. These car had upgrades from the first 930 Porsche's, mainly a factory intercooler. The exhaust on the 930 has been modified after the turbo charger. It is basically just straight piped for and great sound out of the flat six cylinder. The interior in the car is in pretty decent condition and all original. The Factory leather Sport seats are complete and still are soft. Also the Leather dash have very little shrinkage compared to most. The carpets are all original as well. The biggest down side is that it had an aftermarket stereo installed in the door panels and rear shelf. This was so typical of this era. The steering wheel leather in in great shape as with the stitching. The AC system is all there, but no belt is on the compressor. We did not try to get system working. I am sure it is still an R12 set up. The windows work great as with all the gauges. When we got the car in, the wheels were painted complete white, with a some stripper we got pack to the original finish on the lip, and repainted the black centers. The tires were very cracked, so we installed new correct size tires on the factory Fuchs. Our Porsche specialist did a full service on the car. It runs and drives very good. The clutch works great and positive. We also replaced the shift bushings under the handle. If you drive the car hard and fast, third gear makes a slight nick when shifting into gear. Driving normal, this never happens. It had a sizable oil leak at the sump plate, but this has been properly re-sealed. It always starts right up and idles smooth. The 930's came factory with massive 917-style calipers that look great and stop smooth and straight. The exterior of the car looks really good from 5 feet. It does have some evidence of re-paint. Mainly the drivers door, which I think is from when it was federalized. Also I suspect it might of had some paint work in the rear and a replaced deck lid. It does from I assume the original whale tail though. All the bumpers line up correct and look good. It had the original Euro rear bumper deco strips on the rear, but they looked bad because of the small reflector, so we put on a set of used ones we had here. This is an un restored car. I tried to photograph from every angle and underneath so you can see everything. I am happy to try to get any details that I am missing for you. I specialize in early Porsche cars, and race Porsche cars as well. I am always looking for all Porsches, let me know what you may have hiding...
