NADA low retail is $9800, and average retail is $15200. Start bid is nearly half of low retail. I will consider buy it now offers over the start bid.
Mechanical:Runs, drives, stops very well. Engine sounds great to me with no noticeable knocking, ticking, smoking. Love the sound of that German V8. Turns exceptionally well. Accelerates well. I've noticed no issues with the 3-speed automatic transmission. The air intake hoses have been replaced with silver ducting. You can buy these on ebay for $200 or so. Odometer does not function. There is a rattle around the rear exhaust area. I think the exhaust needs to be tightened up. You can probably hear it in the video when I walked around to the rear of the car.Electrical:Overall good. Some minor issues, including: headlights go up and down with a toggle switch that was added under the dash. My guess is the headlight switch is bad. Car does come with a replacement headlight switch. Windows and sunroof open and close, but very slowly. Power driver seat doesn't function. I was able to adjust it manually. Air isn't cold, and heat doesn't get very hot, but the blower does blow strong.Interior:Dash has dash cover on it. Headliner is excellent. Driver's seat is worn on bolster where you get in, but could be easily repaired. Carpet is great. Passenger seat is very good. Rear seats have cloth strips attached at the top. Has a nice working Sony CD player with remote.Paint/Body:Very shiny red paint. Extremely presentable. Some minor chips on the door guard strip. Overall, very pretty. Appears to me to have never been in a collision. Looks very clean underneath. Excellent, like new tires. Very nice factory wheels.
Comes with some service records and the original owner's manual, plus red key.
I'm not a mechanic or dealer, but I've owned well over 40 classic cars in my life and love them. If you've been looking for an affordable 928, this might be the perfect one for you.
