This is an ever so slightly modified 912 hot rod if you will.Tastefulmods have been done to this car such as the painted dash that really works in this color, custom gauges, properly modified drivetrain, and a few other items that were all done in the Porsche style. Somany 912s you see for sale have recently been built and flipped for profit and the poor quality shows. This car was built for my own use with no regard to cost or time involved, I own a Porsche restoration shop that specializes in 65-73 Porsches. What can I say it is very hard to make a bad car lookthisgood while pictures in the sun - look my pictures over and compare with others please. This car was finished 10 years ago when many more original parts were available at a lower cost -todayit is allreproduction parts that fit terrible and do not hold up. You could not duplicate this build for less than $100k today. This car had a very low 30,000 original miles on it when I purchased it in 2000, it was driven a few years and then restored when it had 35k on it, sincerestorationit has traveled a mere 10,000 miles - over the last 10 years. Paint is a bare metal Glasurit single stage that would cost $15-20k to do today, oh and all the body panels are correct to the car 1966 parts, no late model doors and hoods that you see done all the time today. Engine is all standard original parts except for the performance items: Neutek SX1 cam, Benton forged pistons, CSP full flow oil system, Bursch ceramic coated exhaust. The machine work was all done by CompetitionEngineering - the best in the biz. The best of everything was used on the engine and it performs so very well, Iestimate110-120hp. The engine is the highlight of this car and a doubt many other 912s on the market have the power this one has. Pleaseplease see and drive twoother912s on the market before you look at this one so you can see the quantum leap in difference between the condition of the average entry $40-50k 912 and this one. Yes the color name is GulfBlue, this one is Gulf of Mexico blue if you will, there are more than one color Gulf Blue as Porsche later changed the color to showcase Gulf Oil colors.
I have been a 912 enthusiast since the late 90s, I was one of the charter members of the 912 Registry and I have been on eBay for over 20 years selling only Porsche items. Been doing this for many years so I know a good car when I see it. If you have anyquestions please send me a message or ask for my number (eBay is very strict with outside communication these days but there is a watermark on the pictures that will direct you to more info). Car is located in San Diego California and I can assist with shipping anywhere in the world.
