Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up, though there aren’t very many. Blemishes include spiderwebbing on the clear rock guards, a couple scratches, a few small dings scattered about, and two patched-up punctures of the convertible top. - Glacier Metallic is a great color on these cars, and contrasts with the dark blue interior beautifully. We put a paint gauge on every panel and found readings of 5.5-7.5 on every panel, consistent with one repaint. Paint looks excellent throughout. Really just one paint thing to be aware of aside from the aforementioned scratches, and that is a small spot of “orange peel” on the nose panel. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Lights and signals are all functional. Pop up headlights work as they should. Weatherstripping is very nice throughout. - Dark blue convertible top is powered and functions as it should. There are two small punctures in the top, and those have been repaired with color-matched patches. The car will also come with a dark blue boot cover, which is free of any tears or fraying. - Porsche Design 90 wheels are in nice shape, with no curb rash or damage. Passenger front centercap is missing its Porsche crest. Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires are in good shape as well, with no significant wear or dryness. Interior: - Again, please defer to the photos and video. Dark blue leatherette looks very sharp. Seats are free of any significant wear. Just the usual for a well-taken-care-of, 30 year old car….Light fade on the driver’s outer bolster, minor crease marks. No punctures or scuffs. Rear seats are very nice and they do fold down. This car has an impressive cargo capacity considering it’s a convertible sports car! Carpeting is excellent throughout. Close to like-new. Original dark blue Porsche floormats will come with the car as well and they’re very nice. - Dash top is free of any cracks or other damage. The wood/vinyl stuff on the lower dash isn’t perfect, shows some age on the passenger’s side. - While the odometer currently reads 103,340 miles, it is no longer functional. We do have a good bit of documentation that shows that mileage isn’t far off though. The last service record we have that shows mileage prior to the odometer stopping is in 2009 at 101,052 miles. That owner, who was the third owner, put right about 1,000 miles a year on the car until he sold it one year ago. This puts actual total mileage verrrry likely at right about 110k. All other gauges are functional. - CD/AM/FM Radio is functional. Fan/heat is functional. AC compressor kicks on but remains on R12 refrigerant and does not blow cold. Lighter is missing. Car doesn’t smell like it has ever been a smoker’s car. Mechanical / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. This car looks very nice underneath. No damage, no rust. Nice and clean. - The car runs and drives beautifully. Truly no tendencies or noises of concern. We’re big transaxle Porsche guys over here, and we’ve been driving this car just about every day that the weather permits. We have had the ABS dash light come on before when first started, but it then went away after a minute of driving. The car starts right up first turn, idles cool/steady/quiet, pulls through the gears with gusto, shifts super smoothly, has great clutch feel, and the ride quality and handling are excellent. No shakes, rattles, pulling under acceleration/braking, wandering at speed, etc. A well-sorted, confidence-inspiring driver. Hard to believe the relative under-appreciation of these cars, considering the quality of the driving experience. Top down on a sunny day, this is absolutely one of the most enjoyable drivers in it’s price range. Buy with confidence. - Service history is all stamped in the original maintenance booklet. This car was serviced at Beechmont Porsche of Cincinnati from November 1990 (233 miles) through 2004 (96,135 miles). In addition to periodic inspections, belt tension checks, brake pad/rotor services, and fluid changes, service history highlights include a 1998 service (53,906 miles) in which the timing belt, balance belt, cam chain tensioner, power steering and AC belts and pulleys were all replaced. Belts were then checked and adjusted every 4,000 miles until the camshaft belt was replaced again in 2001 at 90,878 miles. Again, periodic check-ups following that. Later in 1998, at 58,428 miles, Koni Yellow adjustable sport shocks and struts were installed. Most recently, in July of 2019, the car saw an inspection and subsequent clutch service (replace hydraulic line from clutch master to trans, bleed and flush system, replace shifter boots and bushings) and battery replacement. As it sits now, this car is ready to be used and enjoyed by its next owner. With any further questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at 773-303-6122.
