1973 PORSCHE 911T TARGA 911
1973 Porsche 911 911T Description
I just pulled this 1973 911T targa out of the barn where it had been sitting for close to 30 years.
same owner since 1984. Numbers matching. 90k original miles. Recaro sport seats. ran when parked scenario
Body - this car was originally sepia brown (color code 415) but the owner had it painted white back in the 80's. the prep work was not so great and there are small bubbles all over the place like the paint is not adhering to the metal. No real rust to speak of. maybe a little spot here or there but overall very solid. underneath is very solid as well. the spot right behind the a/c condenser is stained from the metal having gotten wet and the undercoating turned rust color but the metal is solid. surprisingly rust free. not going to say 100% rust free as I have not dug too far but from what I can see it is very solid. all the gaps are good. doors open and close just fine. has H4 headlights. front bumperettes come with the car but are not installed.
Engine/Transmission - Original engine and trans. 2.4L with MFI. it was a little hard to turn at first but once it broke free it does turn over by hand and feels good. the mfi butterflies are stuck and I don't want to force them. but figure they will need a going through. I have no way to test the transmission but I assume it's probably fine. the car was driven into the barn before its slumber.
Interior - has factory recaro sport seats. these were not original to the car but owner installed them in the 80's since they just happened to match the color of the interior. I do not have the originals. door panels look pretty decent. the carpets need to be replaced as they were too far gone to be saved. original radio still in dash. dash has a hole where the speaker would have been
Brakes - as with any car sitting for close to 30 years, the brakes will need to be gone through. the rotors were stuck and i got them free to roll out of the barn and on to my trailer. but i would not dare step on the brake pedal because that's probably where the car will stop for good.
Car comes with 5 matching 15x6 fuchs and original tool kit.
Obviously this is a project car that will at least need mechanical resto. motor may or may not be able to be saved without a teardown. mfi definitely needs work. Cosmetics will be up to the new owner.
Asking $39500 obo. Or we can work out a deal where I keep the seats. Located in Hollywood, FL and I encourage personal inspections. It's sitting on my trailer and I can deliver it anywhere in South Florida once paid in full.
$500 deposit is due immediately and the balance is due within 7 days. Thanks for looking :-)
