1976 Porsche 912 Description

1976 Porsche 912E powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder gas engine. It is one of only 2,092 cars produced world wide and one of only 500 with an electric sunroof. The original warranty book shows it was purchased in Palo Alto, California on July 22, 1976. There are maintenance records through March of 1990. I purchased the car in the late 90’s in Portland, Oregon and have owned it ever since. It was professionally restored and painted about 20 years ago. The vehicle had close to 100,000 miles when I purchased it and the odometer currently shows 101,152. The car has been driven very sparingly over the last 20 years and appears in immaculate condition. The car was factory painted “bitter chocolate” (code 408-9-1) but we had it painted Porsche Arctic White. The paint is in exceptional condition. The motor is probably not the original although we cannot verify that. The vin number on the car is 9126001751, and the motor is stamped 4061762. It is the appropriate engine for the car but we cannot represent that it is original. The wheels are the OEM 14” Fuchs and we had them polished. There is no visible road rash. The car has very straight lines and appears fresh from the restoration. The interior is original and the only items that may need replacement are the visors. The dash, seats and headliner are all in very good condtion. Unfortunately the radio was stolen and replaced with a very good Pioneer unit. Recently we spent $4,200.00 replacing the battery, the fuel pump and sending unit, adjusting the valves, rebuilding the pedal assembly, replacing the rear shift rod bushing, replacing the switch for the oil pressure guage and a few other minor incidentals. The car runs, starts, drives, stops and handles wonderfully and we are unaware of any defects. The car has not been driven in the rain in the last twenty years and has always been garaged.
