1991 Porsche 911 Turbo 964 965
1991 Porsche 911 Description
PLEASE NOTE: Ebay would not accept the European/ROW VIN for this car, ignore the listed VIN above.
You are looking at a 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo, also known as a 964 Turbo or 965, with a 3.3L Turbo engine. This particular example comes in Metallic Black with a Matador Red leather interior, an extremely rare and desirable pairing. For those big on maintenance history, it includes nearly $150k worth of receipts for parts and service over the cars life. Most notably, a receipt for around $45k for a complete engine overhaul and plenty of upgrades done around 37,000km's ago. The first page of which I had translated and can share with serious parties. It's apparent the car was well cared for by its two previous owners in Japan, where it was sold new and lived until being exported recently.
Some of the modifications include new coilover suspension, strut bar, HID headlight kit, trunk mounted kill switch, Motec ECU and a whole bunch of other Motec stuff to go along with it. An Andial boost gauge replaces the clock on the instrument cluster. All gauges function as they should, Fuel/Oil level gauge does show some cloudiness from the protective plastic films adhesive. This can be rectified by pulling the gauge and removing the plastic film from the glass lens and refitting the lens without the film or replacing it with new film. Tachometer needle still functions but seems to be hanging lower than it should and will require repair.
Big Red brakes and RH wheels give the car a nice 3.6 turbo look. It wears nearly new Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires all around, DOT dated 2515 (25th week of 2015). The leather interior is immaculately preserved, soft and crack free. There isn't a tear to be found and the Matador Red looks brilliant with a nice washed look to it. The door cards, rear seats, rear side panels, parcel shelf and dash are all in perfect shape. The drivers seat shows well with minimal wear on the bolster. Headliner is tear-free. The ignition tumbler failed, perhaps a worn key or worn tumbler and will need some attention.
The paintwork is just as impressive, this car has never been in an accident and the paint is quite reflective throughout. On close inspection the top of front drivers fender and the roof have had a high quality respray. No significant damage and all panels are original, though it does have a slight dent in the drivers door panel. Looks to be about a $100-150 repair from any competent PDR technician. Newer clear 993 spec turning marker lenses can be replaced for the correct 964 lenses in either amber or clear.
The engine and transmission are original to the car and both function flawlessly, Shifting is smooth through all the gears. The power comes on quite quickly and the whooshing sound of the blow off valve is addicting. This car pulls harder than anything I've driven. The clutch takes up quite low on the pedal travel indicating that it is not worn or in need of servicing anytime soon. The case is completely dry, no leaks! The odometer currently reads at 117,360km or around 73,000 miles.
For the enthusiast collector looking to add a 964 Turbo to the stable, this car should be a prime candidate. It is priced at a fair market value for the cars condition and provenance. Yes like all older Porsches there are some small projects to do upon taking ownership. Buyers are welcome to have the car inspected, feel free to contact me to set something up. Thanks for looking!
