1991 Porsche 911 964 Description

If you are looking for a 964, then you are aware these cars can be very difficult and expensive to "sort" for use on a regular basis. This car is a big shortcut for those who want to find a nice 964 with great options and upgrades without having to go through the sorting process. 964 coupes in any condition are very hard to find.
This 964 Carrera 4 coupe is Midnight Blue with Classic Grey partial leather, leather Sport Seats, rear wiper, Classic radio and Singer style lights. This Carrera 4 has had extensive maintenance over the past year, I intended to keep this car as my daily driver but circumstances dictate otherwise. I have known the car for a very long time and have done pretty much everything required to make it a great driver, including:
New Tires (Michelin Pilot Sport) with road force balance & 4 wheel alignmentNew Brakes incl factory pads, rotors, sensors & fluidNew Engine mounts (upgraded to 993 style)New Oil system (OK this incl the tank ($1796), hoses (over $700), lines all the way to both coolers in front, etc)New Front AC/fresh air fans (Almost $2k in parts alone)New AC hose, conversion to 134, AC serviceNew axle boots with service, diff sealsNew front (trunk) carpeting, plus new grey floor matsNew AGM batteryNew Hydraulic pump ($1861)New Distributor ($1500)New engine sound absorber mat (factory part)New rear spoiler moduleNew factory locking wheel nut setNew hood struts front and rearComplete service incl valve adjustment, cyl leak test () plugs, filters, beltsRepair misc oil leaks including oil return tubes, timing cover orings and front crank seal
This is only partial list of the parts that have been replaced to get everything working properly; the lights, gauges, wipers including rear wiper, clock, cruise control, rear spoiler, windows are all working. There is also a long list of labor cost to go along with those parts listed above.
This 964 drives like a new car, it handles perfectly with all diffs operating properly, steering wheel straight, perfect brakes with original pedal feel (not rock hard like cars that need the hydro pump) and that great 911 sound! The engine (top end) and clutch were done according to the PO around 90k, clutch still perfect no slip or shake on engagement. Engine tray removed to prevent heating issues re exhaust valves. Current cylinder leak down results are 1-2%, 2-4%, 3-3%, 4-2%, 5-6%, 6-3%. Engine pulls great in all gears, smooth and quiet. Gearbox is perfect, shifts easily and cleanly in all gears.
I purchased the Porsche Classic radio and Singer style projector headlights as upgrades, everything has been installed and working as of this week. The lights are a huge upgrade for night vision, and being able to use NAV and bluetooth is like having a modern car with all the vintage 964 benefits!
The body and interior condition is above average, I had the seats matched and dyed to a very high standard. There is one small spot on the driver's seat where the cord has broken but it is not that visible. The car does have very rare Sport Seats in leather. The shift boot has been replaced with a new factory part and the steering wheel stitching is excellent. I would call the interior a 7 or 8 out of 10. The exterior is probably about the same, mostly original paint that is showing through in a few very small spots (roof near driver's door and area below rear window). There are some scratches on the top of the rear bumper, no idea how they got there, but shown in the photo. Rear lights are not cracked and show well. There was a small parking lot incident about 11 years ago that lightly creased the engine lid and cracked the paint on the left rear fender. The fender was repainted at that time and matches well, the small crease in the engine lid is still there. I had the hood repainted due to small chips etc, otherwise the paint is original.
This car is an excellent opportunity to own a 964 that is ready to drive, it is a great color combination and tons of receipts for recent work. I have attempted to address any and all remaining known issues and if anything the car is probably better than described. Please look at the photos closely and let me know if I can help provide any other information so you can bid with confidence. Good luck!
