1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Street/Track
1986 Porsche 944 Description
For your consideration my 1086 Porsche 944 Turbo in yellow.
I've recently moved and do not have a place to store the car during the winter months, otherwise I would just keep it.
I purchased the vehicle about 2.5 years ago from a car enthusiast in Florida. He did invest tens of thousands of dollars into it, and I have also invested a few thousand since I've owned it.
I will start with a cut and pasted copy below of the original owner's write up on the car, as I'm not familiar with all of the upgrades, and I'm not a mechanic. I wanted a 944 turbo back in the 80s' but could not afford one, so that's the main reason I purchased it. I have driven the car very little since I've had it. Probably around 1500 miles.
Pristine condition with new paint. Upgrades totaling $47,000 with all receipts included. A street legal vehicle that is completely prepared for the track as well although never raced. So, to start with the car was certainly not "pristine", as the previous seller stated in the write up. It is in very good condition, and hopefully the pictures tell the story.
The car starts, idles, and runs excellent. It is ridiculously fast, and does handle like a go cart.
Everything is not perfect though, and I will tell you what it does have wrong.
There are some interior cosmetic trim pieces that need attention.
There is no rust or bondo or dents, but there are some small typical chips from stones, and one scratch on the paint pictured below that happened while it was in storage last year. No biggie.
There is some expected road rash on on the rims pictured.
The heater and even the air actually works, although not the coldest air conditioning.
The gauges are working.
The lights work.
One brake light is burned out.
The windshield washer does not work.
The cruise control does not work.
The horn was moved to the floor as a button, but we kept on stepping on it accidentally, so it is unhooked for now.
The car does have a small oil leak somewhere, and it drips on the exhaust. This was actually the case when I purchased it.
I just had a radiator, battery and all belts replaced last week. This included the timing belt.
I put down that the car has about 10,000 miles on it. I'm guessing that's how many miles are on the rebuild.
I also installed a new Sony stereo and Alpine speakers front and back.
The car is being auctioned "as is", with no implied or expressed warranty.,
I will accept a bank cashier's check, or Paypal "Friends and Family".
I will work with the buyer to help arrange shipping. Typically shipping costs about $600 or so.
Below are many pictures. They're not in any sort of order. I just posted them randomly.
Also, please don't bid if you can't buy. Thanks.
