Hello fellow car enthusiasts. For sale is a very rare and unique 1990 Renault R5 GTE with an amazing 8, 35 documented kilometers on its clock. The car had spent most of its time sitting on the showroom floor of an official Renault dealership in the Southern France. The car was taken on a trade by them years ago and was kept and enjoyed by none other than the Dealer Principal himself, ho had taken it for a occasional blast through those windy European roads to keep its heart pumping and the blood flowing. When this little gem was discovered by my European friend, knew I had to have it! This took a couple of months of convincing the Dealer and a promise to send back a picture of the car in the US, hich I do include below for your enjoyment. The car was than taken to one of the German ports, rofessionally placed and secured in the 20-foot container and taken Stateside.
After all the legal importation paperwork had been taken care of and all the inspections were completed, free, lean, nd clear US Title was issued. the car was than gently enjoyed for some time and is now up for sale to make room for a new exciting European find arriving soon.
The car is in an absolutely fantastic unmolested original condition. Everything operates just as it should. It is an absolute joy and blast to drive and gets lots of thumbs-up anywhere you go. An extra oil cooler and an oil temperature gauge was added for the additional engine health and safety as well as a Cat-back Remus Exhaust.
This GTE model is v very Limited Production Model that is in fact a copy of the famed Renault Super5 GT with a rich and glorious Racing History. Here is a quick insight into the models history:
In the late 1980s, he famous FIA (French acronym as created a long time ago by the French, ike many institutions, acing and international championships, or "International Automobile Federation" in English) decided create a world championship Rally Group N.
The Group N Rally cars are small sports cars, ew different of the market sports cars that we can cross on public roads.
The group N regulations impose some changes. They just have a roll cage, acing reinforced chassis, nterior equipment more race, ut for example, he engine is virtually the same as the market sports car versions.
This world championship FIA Group N runned only 2 seasons, 989 and 1990.
All leading manufacturers were present with their best small commercial sport car: VW, pel, enault, eugeot, itroen, ord, MW, udi, iat, tc ... BUT (as often when they are present in a world championship) it's a French brand which won the 2 world championships in 1989 and 1990. And so it's Renault Sport (the famous Renault racing part) which done the double with a Super5 GT Turbo driven by the French Alain Oreille.
To celebrate this double, enault created and marketed in 1990 and 1991, limited and numbered edition from this Super5 GT Turbo, ouble world champion FIA of Group N Rally : The "Super5 GT Turbo Alain Oreille".
This Super5 GTE looks exactly like a "Alain Oreille"!
In fact, t has everything like a "Alain Oreille" version, olor, ppearance, nterior, hassis, nd even the brakes!
I insisted of completing a full and complete Renault service before the car ever left the Renault dealership, hich included new everything Tune-Up, ncluding even a new Timing Belt installed and all the New Fluids. I am absolutely sure you will enjoy this car weather you use it as a Sunday Car Show and Drive car or keep it as an Investment. All keys, ooks, nd supporting documentation will go with the car, s well as a box full of original Renault preventive maintenance items such as filters, iming belt, tc, ill go with the car.

You may find an occasional paint chip or a nick or other minute imperfection that did not show in the pictures if you really, nd I mean REALLY scrutinize this car. Even though it had spent its life on the showroom floor, his is a twenty six year old car that did not sit in the climate-controlled plastic bubble since day one. It was gently enjoyed, ared for, iewed and admired throughout the years. That said, n occasional age-appropriate minute imperfection could probably be found with a your magnifying glass.
Now for the necessary legal fine print: The Buyer is responsible for shipping. This sale is final unless cancelled by the Seller at his sole discretion (yes, may, nd probably will refuse to sell the car to an immature young individual who intends to run it into the ground). The car is sold absolutely as-is, here is with all faults that it may or may not have. Your bid is a legally binding contract and should be treated as such.
That said, lease enjoy this auction and good luck to all.
