This is a very unique Replica conversion. Originally it was designed to be a re-bodied "Peoples-Car" that after lifting the old body from the floor-pan and mounting the fiberglass body would look similar to a vintage sports car. This was accomplished in 3800 hours which proved to be a huge disappointment, it was under-powered-had poor handling/ and plagued by maintenance issues. After 5 variances of the"Peoples Car"engines including a American made-after-market knockoff engine and different transmission combinations'..., the car then evolve to be the delight I had hoped for. The entire car was transformed from the chassis to the power-train. all instructions were discarded and all components were replaced ... The project was renewed starting out creating a 4130 moly tubing chassi that adapted nicely to the fiberglass body with power steering with state of the CAD art design/machining methods and the finest materials. BIG$$$ were spent to accomplish this phase as was the case to completion.

The Engine I chose was/is a Sub-e wrx/stI intercooled (air-to-liquid to air), turbo charged, 4 camshaft, 16 valve engine. It was chosen to retain the tradition of a horizontally opposed engine (which now makes 350hp) I use a bigger turbo than stock and twin-turbo heads which proved to be the right engine .The stI engine has 2 cooling systems with 4 fan assisted radiators (2 for the engine-block and 2 for the intercooler turbo system). It has a custom made kevlar timing belt with a John Edwa--s low-profile 2 piece casted aluminum dry-sump oil pan. Power to the ground is delivered through a Kenn--y adaptor to a 901.-- 5 speed manual transmission modified to be a quick-ratio 3 speed with 2 over drive gears in a caged transaxle (the 4th and 5th gears are from a 914 transaxle).... this means very quick off the line and not compromising top end (165mph). Driven conservatively you can expect 27mpg, aggressively 10mpg. **It drives solid at 90 mph @ only 3000rpm.

If you're feeling frisky, it will almost pull the wheels under full floored acceleration and the transmission can take it unlike the brake-able/snout 4 speeds typically used.

It features a rubber-mounted independent engine and rear end design, utilizing 936 CV joints and big Schroder axels. Additionally, it has drilled rotors with AeroSp--e technologies calipers which provide excellent stopping power. The suspension is Av-o adjustable coil-over shocks with traction bars. Both front and rear have heavy-duty stabilizer bars to keep the car glued to the street in turns. The steering is quick ratio Form-ula 1 power assisted to get you away from the curb easily even with the 16" and 17"//// 10" wide Z rated tires which are mounted to the Italian-made Ante---ra wheels ..

These stIi engines are very smooth and durable with strong factory internals . It sounds very healthy through a 303 stainless steel exhaust system that has been treated with heat resistant wrap .
Photo of different stages are available to those who present themselves as legitimate buyers. Later custom turbo and dyno tuning (Link engine management system) done by Out-B Sub--u of Orange County. It drives solid - yes, great performance and exempt from CA smog (bonded and titled as 1956 P"so-in-so-forth"/not a kitcar). Car has been a lot of fun to drive with a perfectpower to weight ratio but it's never raced or abused.

That said, I tried to capture the details of a vintage aero dynamic body style with retro refinements.
The car was road tested for safety after the conversion. and has approximately 1000 miles on the new engine

The car looks as impressive on the bottom as on top. Inside, the doors have been converted into glove-boxes. The exquisite interior has been detailed with burled walnut/mahogany/embroidery . Both the convertible top and the tonto cover were created with German-made stay-fast canvas.
The interior is insulated with heat/sound shield insulation under carpets . Custom vintage style Classic Instruments and of course comfortable low back 6 way Bea--rd power seat are complementary..
The body is detailed and nicely crafted for show. Under the front hood/bonnet is a highly polished aluminum 19 gallon fuel cell, additionally there are 4 aluminum polished wheel wells. I've redesigned the body with custom grills, additional highway lights, 4 custom made stainless steel bumper-ettes with front-end skid-bar for parking ties and a functioning scoop in the rear.
Al--pine am/fm/equalizer radio and power antennawas top of the line when theproject started. The car is equipped with anti thief devices..
Keep in mind this is a Custom car and it's all about fun and evenmore so about being cost effective than the nicest V8 powered fiberglass kitCars that are selling at $65K range these days.

Here you are looking at one of a kind with a powerful turbo charged WATER COOLED 4 cylinder.

For that special person with similar interest this isa bargain that is turn key ready. I'd be happy to go over it with the person who is interested in collecting this unique car.

Car is currently registered, insured, and has a clear CA titled and is suitable for future exposure in magazines/trade shows/SE-MA show/advertising your business (it's an eye catcher).

This car can be shipped world-wide or you could drive it from coast to coast without any problems.
